RATING – 7.5 OUT OF 10

Recently I purchased the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil in deep green shade. It costs approximately INR Rs 385. Over the years we girls have been looking for a non-smudging eye pencil, but here Bourjois Paris brings for us a pencil which is meant to be smudged, and women are just loving the smudgy eye look these days. Its so elegant yet sexy! What do you say?

Well of late I have been a great lover of neutrals and smokey smudgy kohl lined eyes, shifting my interest from dramatic bright eyes. I was looking for a green eye pencil, and the Bourjois one was just perfect for me.

The brush

The Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is soft and buttery. There is a smudger brush at the back of the pencil which is also soft and meant for smudging the line. I generally apply an all over eye lid color which is kind of beige with a tint of pink, and then I apply the pencil on the upper lashline, and smudge it out and blend it towards the crease. The pencil can be used as an eyeshadow too, and that’s what I love!

I do not apply on the lower lid or waterline, since the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is too prone to smudges, therefore there is a possibility of the color getting transferred to the cheeks after some time. You get a variety of colors, matte as well as shimmery. My pencil was super pigmented. It did not irritate my eyes.

But the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is not waterproof or water-resistant. Then the smudger brush’s bristles are too soft, so I use a separate smudge brush from Vega. Also the staying power of the Bourjois smokey pencil is not good.
