How to apply pastel makeup

Summer is all about colors. So if you are looking to add touches of color while applying makeup, or on your hair, or in your wardrobe, thats perfectly understandable. Pastel makeup colors are currently ruling the makeup world. However, if you wanna try those awesome pastel shades then it would always help if you get a bit of assistance on what to use and how much to use. If you are more into nudes, then trying pastel shades like pink, peach, teal, lilac, green would be a fun try out. So if you want to get a soft pretty look and not get converted into an Easter egg lookalike, read on.

Keep eye makeup subtle : While applying eye makeup, please ensure that the colors blend well. And you get a soft light eye makeup look. If you are going for pastel shade eyeshadows, then go for soft colored lippy. And for a minimalistic eye makeup look, just sweep only one shadow all over your eye lids, and finish it off with coats of mascara on eyelashes.

Chalky lips big NO : Pastel hued lipcolors are fun, but don’t go for lippies with chalky texture. Slowly build up the lip color. Dont apply it heavily or in large amout. One of the most commonly used lipcolor is pink, so if you are applying it, just check if the color tone matches your complexion.

Go monochromatic : If you are using pastel shades from the same color family, opt for monochromatic. Just like, soft pink eyeshadows would go well with rose colored lip color. Just make sure to set the right balance between the colors you use so that the makeup look does not look washed out!

Dewy skin : When you are wearing pastel shades, make sure that the skin does not look flat and washed out. Skin must be hydrated and dewy. So definitely you can add some radiant glow and illuminator on the skin to achieve the dewy look. After you have applied blush, go for highlighter. Or else at the very beginning mix some highlighter with the foundation and apply all over the face to get an overall glowing facial skin.

Try fun eyeliner colors : If you are not an eyeshadow person, eyeliners in different colors can help you come out of the monotony. Apply white or lilac or peach or light green on the upper eyelid as well as on the lower eye lid. This will make the eyes pop.

Mallika Sherawat's makeup look in the film Dirty Politics

Mallika Sherawat’s makeup is quite simple in the newly released film “Dirty Politics”. Her makeup look is such that can be wore on a daily basis. Not at all very dolled up or heavy hence suitable for regular makeup.

So in this article i will write about Ms Sherawat’s makeup look from the Bollywood film.

Mallika Sherawat wore sarees in many shots in the film. She was given an average Indian lady look with round earrings, bindi and half of her clutched. Her brows were neatly groomed and she got a radiant complexion with beige colored shadow on her eyelids or in some shots a metallic golden shadow. Her eyes are tightlined with black kajal, both the upper and lower lashlines. And to complete the eye makeup, coats of mascara has been used on her lashes.

We can see a nice glowing complexion of Mallika which is the effect of illuminator and skin highlighter. Contouring has been done mininally. On her lips a light brown lipstick has been used.

In the item song “Ghagra” in the film “Dirty Politics”, Mallika Sherwat has been given a glam makeover. Though its not at all heavy makeup. The makeup artists in the film has given Mallika all throughout a very sophisticated elegant look without going overboard with colors.

In the item number, Mallika’s avatar is of a village belle in ghagra choli with a bindi, nosepin and jhumkas. She got a beige or golden eyeshadow all over her eyelids and a medium pink shadow on the outer corner of her eyelids. She got false eyelashes on. On her upper eyelid, she got black liner on, which has been winged out at the end. And on the lower lashline, black shadow has been used to line the lower lashline concentrating on the outer corner and going lighter towards the inner corner. She got her blush and contouring done very lightly. On her lips she got a deep raspberry shade thats french raspberry shade.

Makeup tips for blondes

If you do have blonde hair, then while applying makeup you must have noticed how difficult it is to find the right shades of makeup for blonde. Some shades look too harsh on the skin while others might make the skin look washed out. So if you wanna look beautiful and sizzling then follow the beauty tips for blonde mentioned in this article.

Makeup colors/shades for blondes : If you are a blonde, go for softer tones, that suits better. Apply pale pink or peach shades on the lips and cheeks. Rose color is also great for the pout. If you have warmer skin tone, and prefer to wear red lip colors, then wear blue-red or orange-red on the lips.

Everyday makeup for blondes : For blondes, the first tip is to be natural and light when it comes to everyday makeup. Go for pink eyeshadows or beige, a rosy blush and neutral lipcolor. For mascara, never use a black one, but go for medium brown mascaras.

Night makeup for blondes : For party makeup for blondes, especially in night-time, wear silver or gray shades. For the eye makeup, go for a light gray shadow on the lids. Any shades of pink on the lips would be fine. Do not use any lip color which has orangish tint in it, and if you are a fan of red lipsticks then choose a blue-red color for it.

Makeup tips for honey or caramel blondes : This type of blondes have golden skin tone and so a cherry red lip color will look perfect on them. Also any lip color with flecks of gold would also look dazzling. Orange and blue-red lip shades can also look awesome on honey blondes. They can practically experiment with a lot of makeup shades.

Makeup tips for golden or reddish blondes : For this type of blondes, a warm shade of purple color on the eyes would look beautiful. And go for peachy lipstick, that would always look good.

Match makeup with eye color : When it comes to eye makeup, blondes who have got blue eyes can use cooler shades like silver, steel blue and also gray. For brown eyed blondes, browns and plums are the safest bet. To define the face, the eyebrow color should be at least one shade darker than the hair color. Before you choose the makeup, always consider your complexion and eye color. If your skintone is darker or olive colored, go for earth tones. How to apply simple natural makeup

For that light makeup is required and not heavy foundations and pancake makeup. For everyday purpose, nothing can beat the barely there makeup look! So the secret of looking beautiful naturally is to wear minimal and light makeup which wont clog the pores and can be worn by women of all age groups.

Simple makeup can be applied in a few minutes and can be done so easily. For the natural look, of course you will need basic makeup products. For the simple natural makeup, you need not spend hundreds of dollars to buy expensive makeup items. Follow the steps mentioned below and you will be able to get the beautiful dewy look within minutes.

Cleanse and hydrate the skin : Before applying any kind of makeup, always cleanse your skin properly with a facial wash or a cleanser. Then apply a bit of moisturizer on the face. In this way, you can get your makeup on in a better way, as the skin gets fully prepared for the makeup application.

In fact a moisturizing face wash is a best alternative if you are hard pressed for time. This will remove excessive greasiness from the face, and keeping the essential oils intact. Foundation : Choose a foundation which matches your skin tone. If you are using a liquid foundation, its better to apply it with a sponge. For powder foundation, you can use a kabuki brush or a powder brush. Dry skinned beauties are more safe using liquid foundation while oily skinned divas can use powder foundation. Do remember to apply the foundation evenly so that no patches appear.

Translucent powder : To get naturally glowing skin, puff some translucent powder on the face. It will give you a dewy look. You should use only a bit of powder and not too much, otherwise that will give you a cakey look.

Mascara : For a simple look, do not apply layers and layers of mascara on the lashes. A bit of mascara is sufficient. With a single sweep of mascara, you will be ready. This will darken the eyelashes and also avoid any clumpiness. Instead of black mascaras, you can use a dark brown mascara for daytime makeup.

Blush : A hint of blush on the cheeks gives a natural flushed look instantly. Use blushes of baby pink or rose color. If you have oily skin, apply powder blushes, and if you have dry skin, you may opt for gel or cream blushes.

Lips : Skip lipstick and apply a sheer lip gloss in softer shades like peach, pink, light brown. If you are having warm skin tones, go for warmer colors.

How to use a lip tint for a natural look

Color of the lip tint / lip stain : Choose a color which is near to your natural lip colors, having only a touch of red, pink in it. Generally lip stains or lip tints are sheer and just adds a bit of shine and dash of color to the lips. Thus choose the color of the lip tint accordingly. This will enhance the shape of your lips and make it look plumpy.

Choose a moisturizing formulae : Pick up a simple tinted lip balm or lip tint which will seal in the moisture on your lips. This gives a more kissable lips! Check out the ingredients of the lip balm or tint before making the final purchase. Most moisturizing lip balms contain olive oil or coconut oil or both. Also lip stains with SPF content will be the best option.

Enhance the lips shape with a lip liner : A lip liner will add definition to the lips, so go for a nude color lip liner and use it to line your lips before you apply the lip tint. Using a natural shaded lip liner, will give a natural look. Make-up to get a fresh look

You might had a very busy day, but as you have a special party to attend tonight, it is very essential for you to look fresh and glowing, inspite of being so tired! Yes with the help of makeup, you can instantly perk up your mood and prevent that tired look on your face, from getting revealed.

Whenever we go for long nights, it takes a toll on our skin, as you might have noticed the skin looks sallow and dull the very next day. I admit that one needs adequate rest to look good, but at times we just cant help it and need to adopt a not-so-perfectly scheduled lifestyle. So in those cases, you are just left with one option – just fake it!

Exfoliate the face

You must use an exfoliator to get rid off the dead cells from the skin. This will immediately add radiance to your otherwise dull skintone.

Moisturize

Who said only dry skinned ladies need moisturizer, even if you are oily, you too should moisturize your face regularly. To cut it short, use a tinted moisturizer, which will act as a makeup base as well as moisturize your face.

Foundation and/or Concealers

If you have a lot of blemishes and pigmentation, go for concealer. But if you have some negligible spots here and there, I would suggest, use a mineralized foundation all over the face.

But this step is totally omitable if you have almost perfect skin. In that case, only the tinted moisturizer would do.

Blusher for cheeks

Give some freshness and life to your face, by sweeping girly blusher on the apples of your cheeks. Remember to blend it well.

Eye Makeup

Keep the eye makeup minimal. You can wear a neutral eyeshadow, and line the waterline with a white or flesh toned eye pencil. For the upper lash line you can use a brown liner, and smudge it out. Then curl the lashes, and apply just one coat of mascara.

Fill in the eye brows

Do not forget to fill in the brows with an angled brush by dipping it in shadow or you can use a pencil even. Use a shade that is at least one shade lighter than the color of the hair.

Lips

For the lips, you can use a neutal colored lip liner to line the lips and fill it in. Then on top of that add a nice gloss in coral or light pink shade.

L’oreal Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palettes in Smoky Brown consists of browns and taupes. The palette consists of neutral eyeshadows. If you love brown eyeshadows which are subtle and can help you make a perfect set of smoky eyes then you will be attracted to this palette, just like me.

How to apply the L’oreal Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palettes in Smoky Brown (As instructed by L’oreal) –

A)     Use the round tip, apply shade 1 over the entire eyelid as a base.
B) Apply Shade 2 from outer to inner corner to create depth and dimension.
C) Use the pointy tip, apply Shade 3 as liner along the lid to shape the eyes.
D) For a finishing touch, apply Shade 4 to the inner corner and brow bone for a bright eye look.

What L’oreal says about the L’oreal Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palettes in Smoky Brown - A professional eye Make up result revealed step by step. The new creamy formula in an extra smooth and adhering texture with an expert selection of harmonius colors: your eyes are sculpted and instantly wide open!

But this is not the end of my story. The eyeshadows in L’oreal Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palettes in Smoky Brown are not pigmented and have a bad color payoff. So when applied on the eyelids, they do not show up properly. The colors are sheer, so you might think of applying a dark colored eyeshadow base before application of the eyeshadow, which might help to a small extent!

While the L’oreal Open Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palettes in Smoky Brown did no good to my eyes, but if you are fond of softer colors and are averse to bright or dark hues then you may give this a try. The shimmery shades are sparkly and that’s a likeable point of this eyeshadow. However, the price is high (costs INR Rs 770 in India) and totally unworthy for such a non-pigmented eyeshadow palette.

URBAN DECAY Naked Palette

Naked URBAN DECAY Palette is a must have in every girl’s vanity. Since URBAN DECAY is not available in Indian shops, i ordered it online, and was waiting eagerly to get the package. Its a biggy palette – obviously not a huge one as that of Coastal Scents, but the palette consists of 12 colors. Now why URBAN DECAY has named the palette ‘Naked’ is not known, but i assume there’s an eye shadow named ‘Naked’ in the palette, which has made the inventors name the palette so.

Some shades wont be found single, so you need to buy the Naked palette to own them. Basically you are gonna get different shades of browns in the palette, so if you love brown/nude smokey eyes, this Naked palette is just for you dearie!

You can see the Urban Decay Naked Palette’s picture on top. Its made in USA, not a Chinese product. Has got a magnet in the lid, with the help of which you can close the palette. Naked palette is a very sleek one, so it wont occupy much space in your hand bag. Also you will get a primer as well as an eye shadow brush with the palette, so thats really a superb deal. Everything for US $ 48. And the shadows weigh 0.05 oz each.

Now the problem with most palettes are that, all shades are not the same, the pigmentation varies. Naked Palette is also not an exception to that. The matte colors were really not that pigmented and not smooth to be applied properly. Suitable for the brown eyeshadow lovers, while many youngsters may not find the palette that attractive.

You can get one from any online shop. Obviously if you would want to buy all shades separately, many would not be available, since they are exclusively made for the palette. And it would cost thrice more than $ 48. Naked palette is a good one undoubtedly, but its not a must-have palette, unless and until you are URBAN DECAY maniac or may be a brown shadow lover.

THE CELEB-LIKE NATURAL LOOK

Celebs and socialites are hitting the headlines, with their flawless natural look. This is not a new product from E.L.F, but anyways i am damn sure, many of you ladies have not tried it out yet. I have got only the Neutral Eye edition and Eye Brights Edition. And i simply love it. I mean worth the price! Totally satisfied. But yeah if you want something very pigmented then you may not be liking this much, since these shades are medium, not highly pigmented.

I would recommend you to prime your eyelids well and then apply the eyeshadows to get a more brighter look. You can create any kind of looks with the palettes. The Beauty Book palette contains 12 eyeshadows, a small eyeshadow brush and an eyeliner, with a small mirror inside.

The only negative thing about the Beauty Book is that its colors are highly dupe-able.But i would love to buy the palette again and again, since its so cheap yet the colors are glam!
