The MAC Sketch eyeshadow is described as ‘burgundy with red shimmer’ and the shimmer particles are almost invisible. It gives a matte warm look and is a multipurpose shade which can be used in many ways. It can be used as overall light was over the eyelid or apply on the crease with a smudge for a soft smoldering look.

Price: It costs $11 for a pan of 1.5g/0.05 US oz and $15 for a tube package is surely worth the money when its longevity and amount is considered.

Application life: MAC Sketch eyeshadow needs a base underneath to stay longer. Without a base it lasts for 3 hours and when used over a base it can stay for 5-6 hours before starting to fade.

Packaging: MAC Sketch eyeshadow comes in classic Mac container which is easy to carry in travel bags or pouches.

Color: It is described as burgundy shade in velvet finish. MAC Sketch eyeshadow also has a red shimmer. It gives a gorgeous wine purple tint with no shimmer and matte finish rather than velvety plum. The color is builadable and looks great when mixed with neutral or dark colors or paired with pink. The texture is awesome for a super classy look.

Pros of the product: It does not give any chalky look and is a lovely crease shade in purple-tone. MAC Sketch eyeshadow can be used to effectively to draw the upper and lower lash lines. This element makes it perfect for smokey eyes and crease or outer V. It also stays for a long time with base with decent pigmentation and versatility. This one color suits everyone.

Cons of the product: Pigmentation is not so strong and takes much effort to blend smoothly. MAC Sketch eyeshadow sometimes gives a punched look due to the deep purple shade. It appears splotchy and uneven.

Review of MAC Expensive Pink Eye shadow

MAC Expensive Pink has a Veluxe pearl finish, and is basically a pink eye shadow with duo chrome. It costs INR Rs 680 for a refill pan. It has coral undertones in it. This eye shadow is suitable for almost all skin types. If you are much into brown eye shadow for everyday purpose, this pink eye shadow will bring an instant change in your looks.

You can use the MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow as an overall eye color all over the eyelids, and then just for the winged eyeliner. However you can also pair this eye shadow by simply lining your upper lash line with a brown eye pencil. The eye shadow has golden shimmers in it which gives the duo-chrome look.

MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow is not highly pigmented, but it is more or less having an okayish pigmentation. This MAC eye shadow is smooth and non-powdery. It stays on for a long time on the eyelids, and can be worn every day, it’s a wearable shade, I must say.

The MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow is the most flattering eye shadow for medium skin tones, though I assume that the glittery golden particles stand out more prominently when a dark skinned beauty uses the eye shadow. Just remember to apply a good eye primer, so that the eye shadow will last longer.

Some pink eye shadows make the eyes look sullen and tired, so in order to test whether the MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow suits your skin tone, please try it out on the MAC store before buying it.

Review : MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow

MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow is a golden bronze eyeshadow. It costs in India INR Rs 720 for a refill pan, and I would suggest to buy refill palettes at first for any MAC eyeshadows, as even if you do not like the color afterwards, you wont be making a huge loss. Anyways, as MAC describes Woodwinked is a “warm antique gold” color.

The finish of the MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow is Veluxe pearl, that means, its not too matte/dull and neither its heavily shimmery. In between the 2 types … I would say. The eyeshadow is not yellowish gold, and rather is a metallic one, but that too is subtle and not harsh. So infact it’s a very wearable shade.

For Indian weddings, this eyeshadow is just awesome. You can pair the MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow on your peepers with eyeliner on the upper lash line, and kohl on the waterline, and then curl the lashes and put on mascara, even better if you can manage to put on falsies, and I am sure the look is gonna rock! You can wear any kind of maroon or red or berry shades of lipsticks.

Coming back to the eyeshadow again, MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow is highly pigmented, the texture is smooth and silky. I got almost no fall-outs while packing on this eyeshadow on my eyelids. Also the eyeshadow stays really long, with or without primer. Superb eyeshadow!

REVIEW : MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow

This is much talked about eyeshadow from MAC, and is also a bestseller MAC shadow. But i got this Naked Lunch eyeshadow from MAC a couple of days back. Heard its a favourite eyeshadow of Selena Gomez.

What MAC says about the Naked Lunch eyeshadow? Its a minimal pink with shimmer (frost).

You can use MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow as an all over eyelid color or even as a highlight. So its a multi-purpose eyeshadow, love that feature. MAC categorises the Naked Lunch as a ‘frost’ eyeshadow. It has a lovely sheen in it. Nothing too loud. Its a champagne color, with a bit of shimmer.

MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow is long wearing eyeshadow just like any other eyeshadows. It costs US $14 to 15. Its smooth and satiny. And love its high pigmentation. If you love monochromatic eyeshadows, you can simply put on this MAC eyeshadow on your lids, and you will be done!

The frosty color with a bit of pinkish undertone makes MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow so adorable! I use it at times around the inner corners of my eyes too. It makes my eyes look bright definitely.

REVIEW : MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow

MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow is generally used as a highlighter by most women. It’s a peachy gold color which is very shimmery as well as pigmented too. So basically you can use it as a highlighter or you can just sweep over your eyelids and use eyeliner and mascara to get subtle yet sexy eyes. Even you can use it in the inner corners of your eyelids. MAC Arena eyeshadow is quite similar to MAC ricepaper, but I would give a better score to Ricepaper all in all, since its lighter and peachy gold.

MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow is having a soft satin like texture and blends really well. Its cost is US $15 for a pack of 1.5g or 0.05oz. You can also get a refill pack in case you don’t want to spend much in one go.

Now you can create a soft neutral look with this MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow. The look is really very wearable during the day, may be for your office too! It literally takes under 10 minutes to get such fresh set of eyes with Ricepaper. It comes to aid on those days, when I go nuts and cant decide what should I do for my eyes! Ricepaper is a great eyeshadow, and I really thank myself for buying this!

REVIEW : MAC CARBON EYESHADOW

MAC Carbon eyeshadow is one of the most hyped eyeshadows in the whole world. Whether you have any other MAC eyeshadows or not, Mac Carbon eyeshadow is on the priority list of all make-up lovers.

MAC eyeshadows are too pricey, but the fact that its generally used by renowned make-up artists and celebrities all over the world, kind of makes it worthy of such a price. So I got a refill pan of MAC carbon eyeshadow consisting of 1.5 gm of the product. MAC eyeshadow refill pans cost approximately INR Rs 700 each in India.

MAC claims : Highly pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well.

MAC Carbon eyeshadow is jet black eyeshadow, and its matte (YAY!) The lasting power is quite good, just like any other MAC eyeshadows. But alas, its not so pigmented, so I really need a bit more to see the color on the eyes. Also if you apply the eyeshadow over your eyeliner, if you want create a smudgy look, then Carbon makes the entire thing ashy instead of matte black.

MAC carbon eyeshadow can be used as an eyeliner for a smoky effect or you can apply Carbon on the outer corner of your eyes. Remember to use an eyeshadow brush and not your fingers to get the desired results. Two things which I love about MAC carbon eyeshadow is that its matte (in the Indian cosmetic market I find a scarcity of matte eyeshadows) and I got really less fall-out while applying the eyeshadow even though it’s a powdery shadow.

If you want to use your MAC carbon eyeshadow, first apply an eye primer or your concealer for base and then eyeshadows. You will get a better color pay-off and the shadows will blend well.

MAC Paint Pots are a must have in every girl’s makeup collection. And MAC relaunched the paint pots in its MAC Posh Paradise Collection. You are gonna find 8 magnificent colors in this collection, so go grab it soon till stocks last.

Genuine Treasure is actually a bronzy color with some flecks of gold, and silver shade. Its glittery, so beware its rough and not smooth and soft textured! You cant blend it properly if you take a lot of the stuff, so take less and then you can blend quickly. You can also get some fall outs.

Half-Wild is reddish purple color with some shimmer. Dark purple with reddish undertone in it.

Idyllic is a reddish color with copper, burgundy and brownish undertone.

Nubile is a frosty peach beige color. This can be used for any purpose, and it can instantly brighten up your eyes. Its not so metallic so can be worn during the day also.

Pure Creation is sky blue but much dark than that. Its muted than navy blue. Also its not silvery, so its a great one.

Treasure Hunt is a pale goldy yellow type of color. Its yellowish without any orangish tint. And its super metallic.

The other colors are Imaginary and HyperViolet, but i have not tried it yet, so cant comment on those.

Most of the colors are smooth and easily blendable. It generally does not smudge or fade. And the best thing is that it can be worn as an eyeshadow as well as eyeshadow base. It comes in a glass jar with a black lid, as other paint pots usually come in. Paint pots do not dry soon, so you can store it. You can use a fluffy brush to apply the product or may be a MAC 242. Overall the products are good!

MAC Fashion Flower Eyeshadow Collection has got 6 shades of eyeshadows. Some of them are limited editon of MAC. So, gals please check the MAC website to make sure of the availability of the shadows. They are priced at US $ 14 for a pack of 0.05 oz. These eyeshadows have got floral prints on it, making the eyeshadows look very charming.

 AQUA (permanent shade) is a matte eyeshadow. A light sky blue kinda shade. Perfect for creating a bluey smokey eye.

BOWS AND CURTSEYS is a metallic dark green color. It has got some shimmer to it. This is more  silky satin finish.

 FREE TO BE (permanent shade) is a coral color. With a slight tint of red added to it. Its matte finish.

FRESH DAISY is whitish yellow shade. Its little frosty. And its too pigmented. Thus it cant be used as a highlighter even.

GROUNDCOVER is a brown grayish color. Its a matte finish eyeshadow.

 LUCKY GREEN (permanent shade) is a highy pigmented green color with some touches of yellow to it. Its satin finish and a very bright shade.

MAC PAINTERLY PAINT POT is a creamy formulae, perfect for long wear. There is no caking, no creasing. Gives a great coverage. Mix it with any eyeshadow and wear it, your make-up is done!

If you are looking for a creamy eyeshadow base, then painterly is just for you. It has got a light pink undertone. You can top it up with any eye shadows. It simply acts like an eye primer. But actually i love it more than any other eye primers. Its so smooth and silky.

It glides on your eyelids smoothly. The colors show off much well when you use painterly as your eyeshadow base. The eyshadow applied on top of it, stays longer after you have applied painterly. Eyeshadow does not fade or the eyeliner does not smudge, when you have primed your eyelids well by applying painterly.

The product is going to last atleast for 6 months, even if you use it regularly. And one secret, you can use it as a concealer too, to cover any black hideous spots and patches or blemishes.

Its expensive, almost US $ 17 for a pack of 5 g or 0.17 fl oz. Now the disadvantage is that, the paint pot does not contain anything to scoop some product out of it. So either you need to use your fingers, eventually getting fingerprints all over the product, or you will need to use a spatula or a brush. Another thing is that, since its creamy, whenever you apply it with a brush, it makes your brush untidy, and you will need to clean the brush after you have used the paint pot, everytime. It dries very quick, and once it dries, you cant blend it properly then, so you need to be very fast!

Overall a great stuff! I would recommend it to be used as an eyeshadow base.

 MAC Wonder Women eye shadow quads are found in 3 sets, as follows - DEFIANCE , LADY JUSTICE, VALIANT. 

DEFIANCE quad has got mainly 4 eyeshadows in different shades of pink. "Defiance" is a very light pink, "Paradise Island" is a warmer pink color, "Star-Studded" is violety pink, "Real Drama" is burgundy with a touch of pink to it. 

The eye shadows are not very pigmented, and the colors do not come out properly. Satin finish, and very light in color. I am not very satisfied with the color pay off.

Most of the shades in this quad are frosted. The shimmer and sheen have done it all wrong this time too. Not worth the money. And again the colors dont pop out at all, if only it could be brighter and pigmented!

VALIANT has got greens, brown, white shadows. "Manila Paper" is a warm whitish shadow. "Valiant" is yellowish shade with a tinge of green(pale). "Diana Undercover" is dark green devoid of shimmer. "Spinning Transformation" is khaki brown color, with bronzy sheen added to it. 

The shades are more or less better than Lady Justice and Defiance, but not at all superb. So-so.


Well, even if i try hard, i cant praise highly of these eyeshadow quads. Since that will be a big big lie. I really did not like these products much. But if you are a mac lover and/or is into building up a huge collection of make-up, then you can give these a try.

The quads are US $ 40 each. You can either buy it from a MAC store near you or online.
