Here is another product the Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque which i have been using for sometime now. It contains 490 g of the product and costs INR Rs 690. The container is all orange, and plastic made.

How to use ? : Apply to clean, damp hair. Distribute evenly, section by section. Leave on hair for 15 minutes, with or without heat. Rinse thoroughly. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.

Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque has got a nice refreshing fragrance. I just love it. The consistency of the product is creamy and i apply it just as directed on my wet damp hair. And when i start rinsing it off with water, it lathers up a bit. The smoothness that the hair gets from the masque stays at least for full 2 days. The hair is much lighter, and fine without any tangles and very smooth and soft to touch. Also there is a bit of shine on the hair. The hair does not look limp or dull at all for the 2 days.

My hair is not chemically treated or straightened, but it is quite rough and dull. So after using this Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque i have observed a lot of difference in my hair. Totally love this amazing haircare product. I will certainly repurchase this product and also try some other new stuffs from Matrix.

TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo Review

Today i am gonna review the TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo which i have been using over a month now. I know, this aint a new shampoo, but you know i am always late in posting reviews. Lazy soul! Anyways, the shampoo costs INR Rs 185 for a pack of 215 ml.

Ingredients : Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Carbomer, Glycol Distearate, Disodium Edta, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Sodium Hydroxide etc.

What TRESemme claims about TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo? : Specially formulated with lower sulphates, TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo, helps restore keratin and gently cleanses to leave hair clean, shiny and manageable. When used together with Keratin Smooth Conditioner, it controls frizz for up to 48 hours and transforms your hair to be gorgeously straighter and more manageable.

How to use? : Apply to wet hair, gently massage and work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly. After shampoo, use daily with TRESemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner. Style using your favourite TRESemme styling products.

TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo comes in a red bottle with black cap. I usually use it 2-3 times a week. I generally don’t use a conditioner after shampooing, because i am very lazy! The shampoo is of medium consistency and lathers okay, got a smell but nothing bad or irritating, at least not for me. The shampoo is white in color.

Now, coming to what i felt after using this shampoo is that, it makes the hair softer and a lot smoother. But the smoothness and softness stays for only a day in my case. Straighter yes, but not that noticeable unless you already have your hair straightened from before. So if you shampoo regularly or on alternative days, TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo will help you to get smoother and straighter mane as promised by the company. The effect is only temporary, so you need to keep that in mind. Also the hair begins to get sticky and dull after a day or two, so you need to shampoo frequently. Since i have long hair, i need to apply at least four times coin sized amount of shampoo on my hair. So this wont last really long. But this shampoo at least lives upto its promises, even if temporary. So, i will repurchase this product may be in near future. I like the shampoo.

Natural Hair Straightening Products for Your Hair

Straight hair is never out of fashion. Hair straightening products are and will be always in demand all over the world. However, these hair straightening products do have chemicals present in them, which leave an impact which is not always good on the hair. Therefore, natural hair straightening products are a safer option in order to get sleek straight hair. Right? Many of these natural hair straightening products are present in your kitchen, and using these ingredients regularly can give you soft, smooth, straight hair.

So if you want to know how to straighten your hair at home with natural hair straightening products, read on.

Hot Oil treatment : Regular hot oil treatment can not only provide nutrition to your hair, but can make your hair straight too. Use a mixture of coconut and olive oil for this hot oil treatment. You may also use almond oil instead of olive oil. Massage the oil on your scalp as well as on hair. Then wrap a hot towel and leave it for 45 minutes. After its done, rinse it off with shampoo.

Coconut milk and lemon juice mixture : Extract milk from coconut by grating a coconut. Milk of coconut has got hair straightening properties. And adding lemon juice to coconut milk will give you better results. Keep the mixture in the refrigator for few hours. A creamy layer will be formed on the top of the mixture. Apply that creamy portion on the hair and wrap a towel to cover the hair. Keep it for an hour. After that rinse off your hair properly with shampoo and use a hair dryer to dry the hair. You will find much manageable soft curly hair with very less frizz.

Natural hair conditioner : To make hair soft and supple, you must use a hair conditioner after you wash your hair with shampoo everytime. Tea liquor is a great natural hair conditioner for curly hair.

Honey and milk : Take some milk and add honey to it to make a paste. You can also smash some berries or strawberries into it. Apply the mixture on the hair. Give enough time to let the mixture dry on your hair. So wash off your hair with shampoo after waiting for 1 and half hour at least.

Egg and olive oil : Egg and olive oil are two of the most important hair care ingredients. Take two eggs, beat them and add olive oil in the eggs. Mix the ingredients properly and then apply it on the hair. Keep it for at least 1 and half hour before rinsing it off with a light shampoo.

Milk spray : To flatten the hair, milk is really helpful. Pour milk into a spray bottle and then spray it all over the hair. Let the hair absorb milk. After 30 minutes, you may wash off the hair with a good shampoo.

These natural hair straightening products wont give you straight hair immediately. Of course these ingredients wont work effectively and quickly like the chemical hair straightening ingredients do.  However, if you make this a part of hair regime and use these processes at least two times a week, you will notice the difference. Within a few months, you will get to notice the difference. However, be patient if you are using natural hair straightening products.

Who does not love straight hair? Straight hair is always the IN-thing in fashion. And just like any other babes with curly mane in the world, me too never leaves a chance to try a thing or two which claims to give straighter tresses. So, when I got the Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner to be reviewed as a contest entry for the collab contest conducted by Indiblogger and Sunsilk, I gave a smile! ;) But then I always have an inner conflict in mind while testing out any hair products which claim to give straight mane, whether it will work or not, as till date whatever I have used could not give the desired ‘straight hair’ look!

 Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo costs INR Rs 56 for 80 ml and the Sunsilk Perfect Straight Conditioner is priced at INR Rs 56 for 90 ml. The products have been created with the ‘breakthrough straight-lock technology’ with the help of Yuko Yamashita.

Both the shampoo and conditioner come in violet containers. That’s super cool! One thing which I like about Sunsilk hair thingy is that those come in different fascinating colored containers which look so amazing! Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo comes in a flip open capped container and the shampoo is pinkish in color, and the consistency is quite runny. It has got a fruit fragrance. Sunsilk Perfect Straight Conditioner is white in color and is also runny. The shampoo lathers up well.

After blow drying the hair I got frizz free hair, but that is not what one calls “Straight”! Well my hair is chemically untreated and I have never gone for permanent straightening till date. So if you have straightened hair already this duo might be of good help to you, though am not sure about it! But for people who have real curly hair or frizzy hair, the Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner wont do any miracle after all! In fact after blow-drying the hair, I straightened my hair with hot iron too. The results were nothing exceptional as the humid weather never allows these irons to work properly I guess.

Overall, the Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner are okayish products. Yes helps in reducing the frizziness in hair. Do not expect anything more! One thing more, it is pocket friendly, so definitely worth a try, as if it did not work on  me does not mean it wont work on you J I am not impressed with the stuffs honestly. However, the shampoo does its work well, that is it cleans well. And no dryness in the hair!

So, if you are looking for smoother frizz free hair, the Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo and Conditioner is a good option for you. But if you are looking for perfectly straight hair, only a chemical rebonding can gift it to you, not these stuffs!

Straighten your hair at home without chemicals

From childhood onwards, I have been crazy about straight hair. Straight hair is always in fashion, and the combination of a little black dress with poker straight silky hair is surreal! Hair straightening irons are an easy way to achieve straight hair, but that is not a permanent solution. But then, straightening iron and blow dryer together can give you the perfectly straight hair, as you have always wished for.

We often think of getting permanently straight hair, though “permanently straight” is just a hoax. This kind of treatments stays only for a year at the most. Also this kind of straightening process needs to use various chemicals, which in many cases can have adverse effects on the hair and scalp.

So here I am going to discuss the steps which can give you straightened hair without using chemicals.

a.      To get straight silky hair quickly and easily, before shampooing the hair, wash the hair with 1/3^rd of a cup of milk

b.     Then shampoo the hair as normally you do, and then air dry the hair partially.

c.      You can also use a towel to dry the hair and keep it a bit damp. Remember your hair should be a bit damp and not totally dry.

d.     Partition your hair into 3 segments – with one segment on one side of your head, one segment in the middle, and the last segment of hair in the bottom.

e.      Take an electric dryer on one hand and a hair brush on the other hand. Blow dry one section of the hair in an even motion and then brush it. Repeat the same process for the different sections of the hair.

f.      After all sections of your hair have been dried and straightened, next take a hair straightener.

g.     Again divide your hair in sections and run the flat iron thoroughly but smoothly through all the sections of the hair.

h.     If you want the ends of the hair to be curly and polished, brush the ends of the hair of a comb and pull it outwards or inwards taut.

i.       Apply an anti-frizz serum or leave in conditioner on the hair.

j.       To finish off the hair styling, blow cool air onto the hair so that your hair styling remains intact for quite sometime.

How Can You Control Thick Frizzy Hair?

If you are having thick frizzy hair, it’s a painful task to control the tresses. But with a few simple steps you can definitely manage the thick frizzy mane with ease.

·        Wash off your hair with cold water. It makes the hair look shiny, locks the moisture in the hair, and also reduces the frizziness.

·        Run comb on the hair when it is still wet. In case you need to comb your dry hair, first use your fingers to detangle the knots. This will prevent from breakage of the hair strands.

·        Do not use too many hair products on the hair to get relief from the thick frizzy mane. Piling on the hair too many creams, oils, serums, will make your hair greasy and heavy. Put a bit of the product on your palm and rub it and then only distribute the product evenly from the roots upto the strands of the hair.

·        To moisturize the hair and also to manage the frizz, a conditioning spray is just fine. Moroccan hair oils are also great.

Review - Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo

If you are just like me, having curly wavy and frizzy hair, and also have gone green with envy seeing the hot chick next to you, caressing her silky straight long hair, then you too would be trying out each and every products which claim to gift you with straight hair. Well unless we are using a straightening cream which is basically a chemical which changes the texture of the hair, we are not going to get the enviable straightness! However when i saw Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo at the departmental store, i purchased it instantly.

Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo claims to - "I think its better straight than never. You love straight hair and you’ll do anything to get it. Well, get your straight look with the help of my lush formula fused with honeyed pear & silk that cleans and lays hair down with a sleek shine. It’s easy. Get in line right here".

Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo comes for INR Rs 148 for a 300 ml bottle. Its not too thick not very runny, its a pinkish fluid. It spreads all over your hair easily without much effort and a little bit of the product is enough to wash your hair. It has got a strong fragnance, but it does not stay after your hair is washed.

Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo wont be straightening your hair at all! So be prepared for the dissapointment! In fact unless you use a conditioner after it, and a smoothening serum, it will make your hair more frizzy and tangled. It some what roughens the hair too.

For me, Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo is a total disaster. Except the pink bottle with green top there is nothing to get from the shampoo.

Review : Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight strengthening conditioner

I bought the Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening conditioner almost a month back, the store had only one conditioner left and I just picked it up without much thinking. However as for the shampoo I got another straightening shampoo since I wanted to try it first before using the Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening Shampoo. This range of silky straight claims to make the rough unmanageable mane turn into silky and straight. The silky straight range from Garnier have also got a serum, which is supposed to complete the process. But unfortunately I could not find it in the store.

Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening conditioner costs Rs 130/- for 180 gm of product. The product claims to have a long lasting effect on the hair. The conditioner tames the hair, and nourishes it, to make it soft, smooth, frizz free and lustrous. Also the taming system, strengthens the hair  5 times from within, while it adds shine to the hair.

The packaging of Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening conditioner is just like Garnier Fructis’s other products. It comes in a opaque bottle which is opaque, and has a bottom opening system. There is an image of a girl ( Ms Jungli) whose hair was frizzy and unmanageable before, and after application of the product, her hair is tamed and silky straight. After shampooing the hair and rinsing it off well, the conditioner is to be used along the length of the hair, and is to be kept for 1 to 2 minutes. You might need a bit more of conditioner than you usually require since the consistency is thin. You can comb your hair after the application of conditioner with a wide-toothed shampoo comb, so as to ensure that all the hair strands get coated.

 After washing off the product and drying the hair, I found my hair to be manageable and smooth. It had less tangles. Of course it did not straighten the hair , but after the use of Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening conditioner when I used a straightening iron, it was much easier for me to straighten my hair well. The conditioner is having a peachy fruity fragrance. But it goes away after your hair is washed and dried. Hair becomes easier to brush. The effect lasts for almost 2 days. But as for the strengthening claim of Garnier Fructis 24/7 Silky Straight Strengthening conditioner I wont be able to provide much insight into that, since using the product once or twice wont be of much help in this regard. Also the conditioner contains paraben which is a drawback.

Overall the conditioner is cost effective and good to use. So would be buying it again, though for me, I require more of a moisturising conditioner than a taming one.
