Many of us do think pigtails go well only with school kids and once we are out of school, we must totally abandon the pigtail hair style or hair do. However, in the past few years, pigtail is back on the runway. It was first seen in the Prada’s Spring 2010 Fashion Show. Post that pigtails were again seen on the runway at the Marc by Marc Jacob’s Fall 2014 Show. Ad recently in the Givenchy Fall 2015 Show we saw the slick ‘chola Victorian’ style braids in action! There is something dark and edgy about the ponytails and braids as well as sweet and youthful.

There are many kinds of plaits or braids, like the Basic one, French plaits, Plaited Headband, Side plait, Fishtail plait, Rope plait, Five Strand plait etc. However, in this article i shall write about the basic plait, how to do a basic plait.

How to do a Basic Plait :-

Brush your hair well – Start with clean conditioned hair. Brush your hair properly and then start.

Divide the hair – Section your hair into 3 parts : middle, left and right.

Criss-crossing the right hair strand  – Hold the 3 strands ad cross the right hair strand on top of the mid section. It should look like the right hair section is the middle part while the mid section is the right.

Criss-crossing the left hair strand – Now, on top of the new mid section, cross the left hair part. The strands should be switched.

Repeat – Repeat the process of crossing the right and left sections of the hair over middle portion until you have plaited your hair upto the length you want.

How to do twisted low bun hairstyle

With the temperatures soaring high, we can only think of chic gorgeous hairstyles which help us in looking gorgeous as well as keep the mane tucked away. As you must be aware buns are in this season. And for a summer evening, nothing can be lovely than the loose maxi dress and the twisted low bun hair style to rock the eve! If you want to get the twisted bun, keep reading.

·       The central feature of this look is centre parting of hair, of course. Parting in the middle will accentuate the face and the cheek bones, provided you are lucky enough to have a symmetrical face shape. So the first step is to part the hair from the middle. However, if you have already mastered getting the perfect twisted bun, go ahead and try and other parting like on the sides or zig-zag.

·       On either side take one each section of the hair and start twisting them until you reach the back of your head. You need to start it from low, and do not tighten the twists too much.

·       Take the entire length of the hair at the back of the head and pull all hair to make a bun. The bun should be hanging low on the nape of the neck. Keep the whole hairstyle light, you may even pull out a few hair strands as when we think of bun hairstyle, we can visualize a slightly unkempt messy look.

·       Use thin hair clips to tie the bun and the sides of the hair. Also be sure not to make these clips visible if you wanna look neat and tidy!

With this messy twisted low bun, go for smokey, thick kohl-lined eyes. This hair style will compliment both loud as well as mute colored pout. You can team it up with a maxi dress or may be a gown.

How to create ballerina Chic Bun

Ballet inspired hairdos are much in fashion now. The chic yet subtle style of ballerina hairs make them ideal for almost any kind of occasion. They are your best partners to bet on a bad hair day since you would not need to use a hair straightener or a curling machine and sit through the heat treatment for ages. Ballerina Chic hairstyle is easy to create and draws lots of compliments too.

Types of Ballerina Hairstyles
Ballerina hairstyles are mostly buns that are made up perfectly without any trace of hair here and there. The style is mostly kept subtle since the focus for most ballerina shows is on the dance and not the hairstyles. The buns are either done tightly so that not a single strand of hair gets loose or done with loose braids to add style.

How to create the perfect Ballerina hairstyle:
Normally a pony tail is used as a base for these hairstyles. For the classic ballerina hairdo, first apply hair gel on your hairs and then make a small pony tail placed at the middle of your back head. Now twist the pony tail as much as you can and cover the base with it. Now either use hair elastic to place it perfectly or use hair clips to hold the bun tightly.
Though Ballerina hairstyles are simple and neat but just to add some style quotient you can leave the lower part of the pony tail untied as it will glam up your hair quotient. Also use good quality hair clips and elastics that will help keep the bun in place. Ballerina Hairstyle is fast becoming trendy and you can only expect the style to grow more.
