NARS Powder Foundation Review

NARS Powder Foundation costs US $ 45. I got to use this powder foundation for 3 to 4 times. I did not buy it myself. So I am going to write the review based on the experience.

It comes in a compact case, as you can see in the picture. I have gone through the NARS website and found that the foundation is available in 16 shades. Though the NARS Powder Foundation is powdery in form, it acts like a liquid foundation. Application is quite easy. Also it comes with SPF 12. Its not at all heavy and also its blendable.

NARS Powder Foundation provides protection from both UVA and UVB which can cause premature ageing as well as sun burns. Though the price is really high, but the foundation stays on long, unlike most powder foundations I have used till date. It gives medium coverage.

Since I do have oily skin, powder foundations are the best for my type of skin. I wore it alone, but then had to use a concealer to cover the blemishes and spots. One can also use it over liquid foundation. You can use the sponge or a kabuki brush to apply the NARS Powder Foundation.

NARS EYELINER STYLO (CARPATES/BLACK) REVIEW

For a long time i did not review any products, so i just got an overcrowded makeup drawer waving hands at me, and trying to draw my attention now! :p Jokes apart, i am gonna review today the NARS Eyeliner Stylo.

Gel eyeliners or liquid eyeliners can be fussy at times. However for many women who are always in a hurry like me, or a few who have got shaky hands – felt tip eyeliners are the best. I got the NARS Eyeliner Stylo in Carpates. It is available in 3 more shades too –

Nuku Hiva which is a chocolaty brown.

Atlantic is navy blue in color.

Koala is a medium grey shade.

The one i got is black that is Carpates. All the eyeliner Stylos from Nars cost US $ 27. This felt-tip eyeliners give an effortless cat eye look within a moment, thats why felt-tip liners are so popular these days.

The brush of NARS Eyeliner Stylo is a bit thick and long. The tip is really pointed, so that helps in getting the perfect line and allows you to control the thickness of the line.

Pigmentation of NARS Eyeliner Stylo is really great. You can get a smooth matte black line just by one application. The eyeliner glides on smoothly. The best thing is that, the line does not smudge and stays on whole day. The tip of the stylo is flexible and made up of fibre. However the brush is so fine and delicate that it does not tug the skin when i am applying the liner.

As i mentioned above, NARS Eyeliner Stylo stays almost throughout the day. It might start fading towards the end of the day. But i did not see it to flake, smudge or anything even though it is hot outside. You can also wear it on the waterline!

REVIEW : NARS Deep Throat blush

The name of the blush is enough to grab many eye-balls, and many readers might have accidentally landed up on my blog, wishing to find something (more intersting?) ,with the same name than make-up! Well ,the name is just an eye-catcher, I agree. And so is the blush. By the way, we are discussing about the non-p**** version of Deep Throat, it’s a blush by NARS cosmetics. If blushes interest you, read on!

NARS blush in Deep Throat is described by NARS as “flirty, sheer peach color”. The color is warm, a pink blush with peachy sheer in it. If you have used the NARS Orgasm blush, then you will find the NARS Deep Throat blush to be much lighter but somewhat similar otherwise.

NARS Deep Throat blush is shimmery, contains gold glitter flecks in it, which gives a radiant glow to face. It does not clog out the pores (I do have open pores). Generally shimmery products accentuates all the flaws, but this blush does not!

NARS Deep Throat blush comes in a sleek matte black rubberised plastic case. One thing I like about the packaging is that, the blush comes with a mirror inside the case. But I really dislike the plastic case since it catches all the dirt and fingerprints quickly, and the box looks messy.

NARS Deep Throat blush is highly pigmented, so just one swipe of the brush loaded with blush is enough. You can build up color on your cheeks by re-applying. It practically lasts all day long! Saying all that, I would just add one more point that the blush is not matte, so if you want a matte blush, this is wont be able to satisfy you!

** This is the 100^th post of this blog. I never thought I would be continuing and would be able to reach 100 given to my infrequent postings. But finally, its done! I am happy. I am more serious from now on towards this blog. Lets see, in how many ways can we enrich our beautilicious journey!! **

REVIEW : NARS Odalisque Larger Than Life Lipgloss

I recently got NARS Odalisque Larger Than Life Lipgloss. Its price is US $ 26 and contains 0.19 fl oz of the product. It’s a peachy beige color with a creamy finish to it. It falls in the category of nude lip colors. But its very wearable since its not so pale and not so pastel, on the darker side. Its better if you wear it with a lipstick. Its creamy so settles well. The color suits on a lot of skin tones, so that’s a plus point of the product.

NARS Odalisque Larger Than Life Lipgloss has got a thick consistency. It glides on smoothly and is very similar to gel. But as you wear it throughout the day, it grows out to be sticky and tacky. It does not have any taste and is odourless. Its quite hydrating, and the color is nearly opaque. The lipgloss has a small lip brush applicator, which is quite small, and thus inconvenient to use. Guess, NARS decided on a smaller applicator since they wanted the application to be precise, that it does, but then it takes a long time for me to apply the product.

The two things that I do not like about NARS Odalisque Larger Than Life Lipgloss are that the lip applicator is too small, and the gloss is quite milky and streaky which fails to create the desired result! Obviously I am not going to purchase the same lipgloss, although would love to try the other lipglosses from NARS.

Limited Edition Trio Eyeshadow (ARABIAN NIGHTS AT US $ 45)

NARS SOUTH PACIFIC EYESHADOW PALETTE

Hello girls, hope you are doing fine and looking beautiful. Here’s a review on NARS South Pacific Palette. Well, i think off late, i am suffering from NARS mania. Lol, just a joke!  But you don’t worry, i will be reviewing other brands too. And this is not to promote NARS or any other brands in particular. Anyways, without wasting time let me start. You read on babe!

The South Pacific Palette is having two shades of eyeshadows, one is turquoise and the other aqua-marine color. The silvery blue color is having shimmers in it. Its sheer and a pale blue kind of color. Satin finished, glides on smoothly. The other shade is a sky blue color. Frosty shade. The shade is rich and vibrant, and very smooth to apply.

It lasts really long, but it begins to crease after 5 to 6 hours. Its better if you apply an eyeshadow primer, before the application of the eyeshadow. There’s usually no fall-outs.

Overall the NARS South Pacific palette is fantastic. The combination of a pale and a bright shadows are great. Costs US $ 33, for a pack of 0.14 oz.

NARS ORGASM BLUSH

The most talked about and hyped blush from NARS, Orgasm blush is known to one and all. I am sure many of you, reading my post, must have heard about the product, and even some of you have tried it. Since NARS is a costly product, i dare not try it. However when i somehow managed to purchase one, i use it only on special occasions. And here i am to share with you, my feedbacks on Orgasm Blush.

The color is somewhat a warm pinky one, with some golden shimmer on it. Remember is not glittery, but shimmery, which adds an even golden radiance to your face, and not chunks of glitter to spoil your entire makeup and the day.

Its highly pigmented, stays for a long time. And then suitable for most skin tones. The packaging is same as that of other NARS Products. Slim and sleek box with a mirror on the opposite side of the upper lid, so you don’t require to carry a separate mirror in your purse.

NARS Orgasm blush is definitely an unique product, since as mentioned above, its suitable for most skin complexions. And then you wont require a highlighter or shimmer powder, if you use orgasm. Also since its highly pigmented, you need very less of the blush, that means,  you need not buy it frequently.

But i don’t like three things about the blush. First of all, since orgasm blush is so pigmented with shimmers, you better avoid it in the daytime. There is a probability that you might end up looking like a overdone makeup nerd. Secondly, the palette is black, and matte, so it gets dirty very soon with fingerprints all over the palette’s body. And then, the blush comes with no blush brush or anything, so you have to carry a blush brush separately.

An awesome product, totally worth the price. It costs around US $ 33. Well, try it, its definitely worth trying.

NARS WONDER LIPGLOSS

NARS WONDER LIPGLOSS retails at US $ 24 for a pack of 0.28 oz. Its a nice shiny orangy red color with tint of pink and shiny golden to it. It has subtle sheer to it. And once applied on lips, it appears less orangy than when as seen in the picture. You get a medium coverage out of this. To get a much brighter color, apply 2-3 coats of the lipgloss. And if you want a softer lip color, just apply a single coat.

This lipgloss does not have any smell, and is also tasteless. Non sticky, thus you wear it much longer. You can wear upto 4 hours without touch ups. Its smooth to apply. And makes your lips look more fuller, with a shiny finish to it.

Overall, a great stuff! NARS has always awed us with its lush cosmetics. This time, this wonder lipgloss has proved itself as a NARS product.

NARS NIGHT BREED EYESHADOW is a highly pigmented eyeshadow with lovely sparkles on it. A soft touch of silver on the black eyeshadow makes it look gorgeous and perfect for a fun night out with your boy friend or husband! It blends smoothly. And does not crease, that is the reason it can be used as a long-wear eyeshadow. You can use it as an eyeshadow. Or just take some in a flat eyeshadow brush or eyeliner brush and dip it in water, and then apply near your lash line-it is great as an eyeliner too! You can also use it to fill in your eyebrows.

NARS products are expensive but worth the price! It costs US $ 23 The eyshadow is creamy, thus making it easy to blend. And the best thing is that no fall outs! Though it has got silver sparkles on it, but once you apply on your eyes, you wont be looking glittery. Its more subtle when applied on eyes. Well, it looks somewhat like MAC carbon eyeshadow, except that carbon is not glittery.

When used with little bit of fix plus on your eyeshadow brush, the color shows up more. Otherwise, its quite subtle. To create a bolder look for the perfect night life, line your lower lash line too with night breed, and see the difference.

NARS NOUVEAU MONDE EYESHADOW DUO

 NARS Nouveau Monde is a duo eyeshadow palette, consisting of 2 highly pigmented, silky rich colors. One is in lilac color with metallic sheen to it. And the other is in, rich olive green khaki color. Its medium glittery, and you must be cautious of fall-outs. Especially with the lilac one. But then, i absolutely loved both the eyeshadows, the olive one a little more.

It weighs 0.14 oz and costs US $ 32.

You can create smoky eyes with this palette, by putting the lilac shadow all over your lid upto the crease, and then apply the khaki shadow on the crease and blend it well. Use a highlighter on your brow bones and dont forget to line your eyes neatly. You are done!

If you want a more soft warm look, use the colors minimalistically. Apply the lilac on your lid with a light hand. Outline your eyes with the olive color, and you may also smudge it up, if you wish.

The palette is the latest from NARS and a part of their Spring 2011 Collection. Ideal for summery looks. Creates both soft as well as glam doll looks. Go for it.
