Stila in the Garden eye shadow palette Review

Last time I reviewed Stila in the moment eye shadow palette, and today I am going to review another palette by Stila cosmetics named Stila in the Garden eye shadow palette. I pretty much like this palette. It has got 10 eyeshadows. And one Stila smudge stick eye liner named Starfish.

What Stila says about their in the garden eye shadow palette ? : The new In the Garden Eye Shadow Palette is a stunning collection of Stila's award-winning eye shadows in wearable, botanical-inspired shades for every skin tone. Overall the eyeshadow shades are quite good, and the smudge stick is a black eye liner with a tint of green in it and has golden particles in it too. The eyeshadows are not at all chalky or powdery, infact all are smooth and silky. The Stila in the Garden eye shadow palette is most appropriate for getting smokey eyes, the color combinations are likeable.

However the Starfish smudge stick does not give good color off and kind of dry. You need to apply a number of times to get a proper line which is visible. And this smudge stick is not retractable, so do not twist up a lot, otherwise the eye liner will be good enough to be thrown in the dustbin. Many of the eyeshadows in the Stila in the Garden eye shadow palette are not matte and has a frosted finish, which I really do not like. The cost of this entire Stila palette is US $ 39. If you are in India you can get it online only. I bought it from Amazon.

Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette Review

I am a big fan of Stila Cosmetics as well as Sarah Lucero. Therefore though Stila is unavailable in India, i ordered it through an international shopping site, and finally i am proud owner of the Stila 10 eyeshadows palette In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette. I have got one more eyeshadow palette from Stila Cosmetics, which i will talk about in some other post.

Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette can be said to be a purple palette, having a lot of purples in the palette. Its a palette made out of cardboard which has a magnetic closure, and the lid is flip-open. The palette consists of 10 eyeshadows and 1 smudge stick liner.

The smudge stick eyeliner is named “Tetra” and it is basically a shimmery purple pencil which can be used to do smokey eyes. The eyeshadows that are available in the palette are : Instinct, Impulse, Glance, Improvise, Catalyst, Desire, Wonder, Spontaneous, Whim, Captivate. The eyeshadows are having silky texture and is soft. Also most of the eyeshadows deliver excellent pay-off. Also a booklet is provided along with the palette, where various ideas of eye looks which can be done with the Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette is shown and described.

Though the Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette is said to be a purple palette, you will get more browns in the palette, and the only purple that is in the palette, is poorly pigmented. Also the Tetra smudge stick gives a very sheer color, and is poorly pigmented. The palette also does not have any unique color, which makes this very bland.

Okay so if you are just a beginner and don’t have tons of eyeshadows in your makeup stash, probably you wont be having dupes of all these colors. But the fact is that all the eyeshadows in the Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette are dupeable. The eyeshadow palette costs US $ 39, and can be bought online from several international online stores. Or if you are in US, then of course you have Sephora to buy this palette from.

STILA Forever Your Curl Mascara

STILA FOREVER YOUR CURL MASCARA, is claimed by Stila to perm the eyelashes and curls-lengthens your lashes, even without an eyelash curler. Its a water proof mascara, suitable for long hours of wearing and even does not melt.

Stila claims this mascara to curl your lashes instantly for a long time. But infact, the mascara cant curl your lashes as it claims to do. If you have scanty straight lashes, you are not gonna have doll eyed eyes by just a touch of this mascara!

The mascara lengthens well. But then when applied on the lower lashes, it smudges after some time. It has got only temporary curling effect, that too wont work if your lashes are too straight. The brush is not a very useful one, it takes in excess product at a time, thereby producing small lumps. The price is also a bit too much, US $ 22 for a pack of 0.24 fl oz. I wont be buying it once again.

URBAN DECAY Naked Palette

Naked URBAN DECAY Palette is a must have in every girl’s vanity. Since URBAN DECAY is not available in Indian shops, i ordered it online, and was waiting eagerly to get the package. Its a biggy palette – obviously not a huge one as that of Coastal Scents, but the palette consists of 12 colors. Now why URBAN DECAY has named the palette ‘Naked’ is not known, but i assume there’s an eye shadow named ‘Naked’ in the palette, which has made the inventors name the palette so.

Some shades wont be found single, so you need to buy the Naked palette to own them. Basically you are gonna get different shades of browns in the palette, so if you love brown/nude smokey eyes, this Naked palette is just for you dearie!

You can see the Urban Decay Naked Palette’s picture on top. Its made in USA, not a Chinese product. Has got a magnet in the lid, with the help of which you can close the palette. Naked palette is a very sleek one, so it wont occupy much space in your hand bag. Also you will get a primer as well as an eye shadow brush with the palette, so thats really a superb deal. Everything for US $ 48. And the shadows weigh 0.05 oz each.

Now the problem with most palettes are that, all shades are not the same, the pigmentation varies. Naked Palette is also not an exception to that. The matte colors were really not that pigmented and not smooth to be applied properly. Suitable for the brown eyeshadow lovers, while many youngsters may not find the palette that attractive.

You can get one from any online shop. Obviously if you would want to buy all shades separately, many would not be available, since they are exclusively made for the palette. And it would cost thrice more than $ 48. Naked palette is a good one undoubtedly, but its not a must-have palette, unless and until you are URBAN DECAY maniac or may be a brown shadow lover.

STILA Illuminating tinted moisturiser SPF 15

This tinted moisturiser from STILA Cosmetics, is a combo pack of moisturiser and foundation. It costs US $ 32 for a pack of 1.7oz. Little greasy, and does not provide the desired coverage of a foundation. But just for touch-us, or if you just wanna add some shimmer to your look, then this is okay. But it adds a beautiful glow to your face, that is why i love the product a lot. But people with oily skin, dont use a lot of the product since this is a bit oily.

It moisturises the skin, but this is the reason i wont recommend it to ladies with oily skin. But then it gives an illuminating glow to your face. And the pack is quite lovely, packed in a white tube. You just need to squeeze out a little amount of the product without dipping your fingers or brush, so thats really convenient.

The product is not light-weight, rather heavy. Which may result in break-outs and acne. And is available in two shades, one for medium to lighter skin tones, and other for darker ones.  Also, its rather highly priced, so makeup addicts like me, who are on a budget, cant afford to buy it. As a tinted moisturiser, except adding some glow to your face, the product does not live upto the expectation.

STILA SMUDGE POTS

For sexy eyes, smudge pots is a must in your make-up kitty. This is a 2 in 1 formulae, which acts both as an eyeliner and also as an eyeshadow. Use it with an angled brush or eyeliner brush, and see the difference! The best thing is that, STILA smudge pots are creamy and too smooth to glide on. Thus perfect for lining your eyes, to create sexy cat eyes. Or sultry smokey eyes.

Highly pigmented and stays on for a long time, with getting smudged or creased. A gel liner basically, which can be applied both on your lower and upper lashline. But remember, it dries up quickly, so if you wanna smudge it, do it as soon as you have applied it on your eyelids. Apply a very small amount. You dont need a lot of the product. And after you have used it, close the lid properly.

0.14 oz for US $ 20. But i think, you dont need to repurchase it within a year, even if you use it frequently. Wonderful product!
