Lóreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder REVIEW

Having oily skin, i usually want a matte look to cope up with the oiliness and greasiness of my skin. So i am always on the hunt of matte makeup, and as you all know, compact powders help one a lot to mattify the makeup, so i am fond of pressed powders a lot. Today i got the Lóreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Powder. It costs INR Rs 399 for a pack of 6g.

How to use ? : To use, apply evenly with sponge all over face and neck. Suitable for everyday use and for all skin types.

Ingredients : Talc, Perlite, Titanium Dioxide, Cornstarch, Kaolin, Magnesium Stearate, Vinyl Dimethicone, Aluminium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Tocopherol etc.

The outer cover is made up of cardboard and pink and black in color. Inside you get a transparent plastic case with some designs made up of pink color. The packaging is just plain, nothing great. You wont definitely get a Lóreal feeling once you open the box, however you need to stay close to reality and have the price tag in mind. Now the case got two openings, first is the compact powder slot, and when you open the back side, you get a small mirror and sponge. The puff i think is of no use, as i prefer to use compact powders with a large powder brush or kabuki brush than sponges or puffs. Anyways, the Lóreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder is travel friendly and quite small so will get inside most makeup bags.

I got Lóreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Powder in shade G2 Golden Ivory. There are quite a number of choices to make when it comes to shade, which will suit the Indian skin tones. Thats really a nice thing. The compact powder is very light-weight and is great if you are just casually heading out and just need something light on your face apart from sunscreen. Also that it contains SPF is really good, since you can simply opt out your sunblock lotion if you are wearing this, very convenient. I simply would disagree on the poreless part and that it covers imperfections, no it does not work as a cover-up concealer, and wont be working as a foundation even. If you have big pores, this wont cover up, be assured about it. If you keep piling on the powder thinking it might cover up pores, then it will clog your pores, and nothing else. You just need a simple single layer of the face powder, and it will keep the face matte for an hour or so, thereafter you would need touch-ups.

The Lóreal face powder does not keep up the claim of giving 12 hours matte look. At least not for oily skinned people like me. It might give a bit of instant brightness or whitness i would say, however if applied properly it wont cast any whitish shade. Lóreal Paris Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transforming Powder is a budget-friendly compact powder, and you can buy this one not only because its from Lóreal brand but it does the work well. It might not stay for a long time, but with frequent touch-ups you can handle the issue. I wont be repurchasing the same product though as i feel i have not found my perfect compact powder yet.

Chambor Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry Review

I am back with another powder foundation review. It is the Chambor Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry. I got this one in shade Dual Cashew 101. It contains 15 g of the product and costs INR Rs 1295. It has an outer packaging made up of cardboard, black in color. Inside is the glossy black compact case which when opened gives you a nice handy mirror, and a sponge applicator. Now i think i have lost the sponge, or it got mixed with the whole lot of sponges that i have so could not put up a picture of it here.

How to use ? : Start applying from the area that needs most coverage, carefully smoothening over bumpy pores. This product can be used wet and dry. Buildable to achieve maximum coverage.

If you are looking for a full-on maximum coverage, this Chambor foundation is not for you then. Chambor Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry gives sheer to medium coverage, and cant hide any acne scars, blemishes even when you apply the foundation as has been suggested by the brand. If your skin got a lot of problematic areas to cover up just like mine, a liquid foundation works better in most cases. Anyways now back to this one, if you apply this dry, it will act more like a compact powder or pressed powder and make the face matte without covering up anything or providing a base to the skin. If you use the sponge wet to apply the foundation, then the coverage is buildable. If applied a lot, it will get patchy and messy and might even give a whitish cast on the face. So make sure you use it very carefully and dont go on layering the foundation to get coverage. The texture is very smooth and velvety and blends well on the skin.

Chambor Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry stays on for 3 to 4 hours at the maximum and even then in between my face starts getting oily on the T zone if its very hot and humid outside. But then my skin did not break out after i applied this, so thats a good thing about this. Also powder foundations are always light on the skin, one wont feel like they are wearing anything on the skin. Chambor too is same in this aspect. It has got a bit of SPF in it, SPF 12 to be precise, so provides mild protection against sun rays. So if you are in hurry, and dont have the chance to apply sunscreen before foundation, this can take care of the skin for sometime.

The only problem is the cost, which is quite high. The coverage that Chambor Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry provides is not upto the mark compared to the cost. One would always need a concealer to hide imperfections alongwith this foundation. Also there are only 3 shades available in the market including this, so i dont think there are a lot of options for the darker beauties.

Amway Attitude Compact Powder REVIEW

The Amway Attitude Compact Powder is one of the compact powders that i am using of late. It comes in a brown case with an outer cover which is made up of paper and is brown in color too. The case is nothing fancy, very plain and simple, with an attached mirror inside and a puff. The best part of this compact is it got a sandalwood smell, and i like the fragrance a lot. It costs INR Rs 699.

I did not buy this myself, i got this as a gift from one of my relatives. As i like loose powder or translucent powder more than compact powder. Amway Attitude Compact Powder is in the shade Medium and matches my skintone. I usually do not apply the powder with the puff applicator which comes alongwith this powder, instead i use a large powder brush for smooth and better application. Puff applicators always make the application patchy when it comes to compact so i avoid.

Seriously i think this compact powder is very over-priced as we get Lóreal compact powder for just 399. Also there are no brownie points which i can give to the Amway Attitude Compact Powder as its a basic compact powder. Does not contain SPF too. Had it been with my own money, i would not invest it in this product. It does make the makeup look matte on the face for an hour or so, but one needs to reapply after every hour if he or she has got oily skin like me. I have not noticed any patchiness if you apply this powder lightly with a large powder brush.

Overall, this is an okayish product however its not worth the 699 price tag. Definitely i wont repurchase the Amway Attitude Compact Powder in near future.

Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation Review

Today i will review the Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation. I got this sometime back, and have used this quite a number of times. It contains 9.1 gm of the product and costs INR Rs 1400. I got the powder foundation in shade 150 Natural Beige. It comes in an outer packaging made up of paper, black in color. The case is also solid matte black and made up of plastic, got a mirror inside and a sponge.

What Revlon claims about the Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation ? : Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation formula with light-filtering technology and soft focus pigments deliver an airbrushed look, wont settle into pores, for a flawless finish. Oil free. Fragrance free.

How to use ? : Apply evenly to face with wet or dry sponge, wet for higher coverage.

Ingredients : Talc, Mica, Bismuth Oxychloride, Nylon-12, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Zinc Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Polyethylene, Tocopheryl, Acetate, Lecithin, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben etc

Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation is basically a foundation in powder form. It does not have any fragrance of its own. It provides light to medium coverage, since i have lot of acne scars, i still need a concealer to cover up those marks, this wont provide any cover to those marks. The packaging is quite travel-friendly. However, the entire packaging gets a bit dirty after use as you can see in the picture so hygiene is one issue.

Applying the foundation properly is the biggest challenge. I think i faced the similar issue with the Chambor powder foundation Brightening Smoothening Foundation Wet & Dry, but this is even worse. When i follow the instruction and use it with the wet sponge, it creates a very patchy splotchy look, and then i will have to go over to the places once again and apply the foundation with a dry sponge. And if i apply the foundation just with the dry sponge, it gives very very light coverage, just like a compact powder. So make sure you have a good concealer handy and also you have some time in your hand to apply the Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation properly.

Revlon Photoready Two-Way Powder Foundation is an okayish powder foundation. If you are looking for something for the evening party look, this foundation fails to work properly. However, if its daytime and you want a softer look with minimal coverage then this foundation can work for you. Powder foundation is best for oily skin, and hence i tried this. In that field, this works pretty well and does not get much shiny or oily on face even after an hour and half.
