Lóreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer Review

RATING :- 2 OUT OF 10

I had reviewed the Lóreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer long back in this blog, however recently when i went through it, i did not like the presentation so when i got this new pack of the concealer, i thought to write the review once again. It contains 5.2 ml of the product and costs INR Rs 990. There is no fragrance, and the product comes in a plastic tube. I believe you can get 3 shades of the concealer in the online stores, namely Light, Medium and Deep. I purchased the shade Light.

What Lóreal claims about the Lóreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer ? : Lóreal Paris True Match Concealer is a liquid concealer that helps smooth fine lines and minimize wrinkles instantly. This impeccable concealer "bridges" fine lines and wrinkles for an instantly smoother and firmer look. The concealer comes with skin brightening ingredients which helps reduce redness and uneven skin tone.
  • Extremely light on skin, hence does not give your face a cakey look.
  • Ideal for all skin types.
  • Great consistency and does not fade off easily.

How to use ? : For fine application, use the crayon point to cover imperfections. For broad application, sweep the side of the crayon for coverage of larger areas, such as under eye.

To start off, the shade light did not match my skin tone, it is way too whiter for my skin tone. Lóreal should have got something for yellowish skintone, since this is more suitable for pinkish skintone. And the medium shade would get darker on my skintone. So lack of shades is a major problem for  Lóreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer. Also it casts some white shade on the areas where i have applied and might leave some patchiness if the skin is not smooth. The application is quite smooth, and the concealer is indeed light-weight and absorbs really fast. I dont know if this will be a good concealer for dry skinned people as i think it dries out pretty fast.

The applicator brush is not very harsh on the skin, so thats a good thing about the Lóreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Concealer. The concealer simply wont work as a spot corrector, so if you have been misguided to buy this to cover up imperfections and black spots on your skin, you may not be happy. I think it is more of a highlighter rather than a cover up concealer. However, this works a bit on the under-eye circles. The coverage is sheer or light.

Finally, i would say the product gets a big thumbs down for me. It does not suit my need to cover imperfections and spot marks.

Concealer hacks and tips for perfect makeup

Applying concealer in a proper way can make a huge difference to your looks. However, its always better if you are constantly looking for makeup tips to improve the way you apply makeup.

In order to get flawless complexion, a few concealer hacks mentioned in this article will be of great help to you. So, if you ladies are interested to do your makeup right, please go through the concealer tips and tricks mentioned.

Apply foundation before concealer – Many of us make the mistake of applying concealer before applying foundation, but then this is not the right way to do makeup! Always use foundation before you apply concealer. This way, it will be easier to blend in the concealer and also you would need only a little of the product. However, if you apply concealer first and then foundation, then the concealer will get removed due to the next application.

Layering concealers – If you got redness on your face or have acne issues, the best concealer trick is to apply a bit of  green concealer on top of the marks before you put on your usual concealer. For under eye circles, go for peach or salmon colored concealers. And for uneven skin tone, nothing will work better than yellow concealers.

Right consistency of concealer – Choosing the perfect shade of concealer is not enough for concealer application. One of the best concealer hacks is to understand the consistency of the product. For under eye circles, liquid concealer is the best. Even a creamy concealer would work fine. Since the under eye area is very delicate, just use the ring finger to blend in the concealer. For other areas of the face, use a stick concealer.

Illuminating the eye area – When it comes to dark circles, we generally apply concealer horizontally. But if you really want to brighten up the eye area, apply the concealer in an inverted triangle shape, with the peak of the triangle on the apples of your cheeks and the base near your lower eyelids. This will draw attention to your eyes.

Base for eyelids – If you are going for a barely-there makeup look or a nude makeup look, concealer is very important in the makeup routine in that case. Just apply a tiny bit of concealer on your upper eyelids and that will hide any eyelid veins or redness. But if you are going to put on eye shadows on your eyelids, then don’t apply any concealer on your upper eyelids as otherwise that will lead to creasing.

Defining the brows and lips – Concealer comes to aid when you really want a defined lips and eyebrows. Or even if you want the perfect cat eyes look. To create sharp precise lines, apply concealer on top and bottom of your brows. Similarly after applying lip colors, go over the edges of your lips with a concealer, to get a very neat look. Also to correct any mistakes if you have done while drawing cat eyes, concealer will help tremendously. You can take concealer in an angled brush and apply it on the particular areas which need coverage.

Liquid foundation as concealer – You can use your liquid foundation as a concealer too, in case you ran out of concealer. However, one of the best makeup concealer hack is to apply the foundation as concealer and let it sit on the skin for a few minutes before you start blending it in. Put the foundation in dots on the areas which need to be concealed and let it sit for around 5 minutes, and then start blending.

Depuff eyes – One of the best uses of a concealer is that it can instantly conceal puffiness of the eyes. Just mix eye cream with concealer and a bit of highlighter and apply it on the brow bone areas, on the under eye areas and temples. That will reduce the puffy look on the face.

Prevent creasing around the eyes – If you want to prevent creasing, just apply the concealer on the skin, by making sure its of the same temperature as that of your skin. If you still face creasing issues, take a tissue and get rid of the excess oil around the eye area, and then apply concealer as you normally do.

Nude lips look – If you want a gorgeous nude lips look, its always possible to apply a favourite concealer on top of the lipgloss or lipstick you are wearing, and get the nude lips.

I hope the concealer hacks mentioned above, help you to get the perfect makeup done everyday and achieve a gorgeous beautiful look easily!

If you have ever wondered why do we need concealers of various colors like concealers in blue, orange, green, purple colors, then this article will help you to know more about the color correcting concealers and usage of color correcting concealer. If you want to achieve flawless skin tone, then read on to know how to use color correcting concealer to get rid of your flaws and get perfect skin tone.

Green concealer or yellow concealer – If you got any redness on skin, a green or yellow concealer works the best on such redness. Just ensure you use a clean concealer brush or fingertips and dab on the concealer on the red spots. This concealer will immediately neutralize any redness on the skin. Whether you have a pimple, rosacea, redness around the eyes, or broken blood vessels, you can cover these up with the green concealer.

Orange concealer – If you have dark circles and bags under your eyes, which look purple or blue, go on and dab some orange concealer. For drag queen makeup, orange concealer is of a lot of importance, because the drag queens do apply a lot of thus orange concealer on their chin and jaw area to cover up any 5’o clock shadow which might appear even after shaving.

Yellow concealer or peach concealer – Even yellow or peach concealers can be used to cover up purplish or bluish under-eye bags or circles.

Violet or lavender concealer – You can use this concealer on any yellow colored bruises. It adds on to the glow to complexion and saves us from looking too dull or pasty.

Apart from these color correctors, you can always use a concealer which is at least one shade lighter than your skin tone, to brighten up areas like under eyes. And if you got a bump which you want to hide, use a concealer which is at least one or two shades darker than your skin tone on the area.

After you have applied the color correcting concealers, make sure to go over those places with a sheer concealer which matches your skin tone or may be a shade ligher than your complexion, to layer on top of the color corrector. Finally, apply foundation all over your face and neck. You can puff on some translucent powder too on top of this.

We all want flawless skin, but most of us, are not born with it. Well, if that is the case, we can take the help of concealers and foundations to hide all imperfections on the skin, and make our skin look flawless. If you are eager to learn the technique of making homemade concealer to get instantly gorgeous skin minus the acne spots or dark pigmentation, here’s some tips which might be of help to you.

One of the most important makeup items is a concealer, it is the only savior when we want to get rid of dark spots and acne scars on our face immediately to look gorgeous for tomorrow’s meeting or weekend’s bash. A concealer is able to hide any kind of skin flaws like acne, pigmentation, discoloration, freckled skin.

How can you make concealer at home?

Making concealer at home is not a difficult task. There are a lot of methods for making concealer at home, however I am writing only one method here.

Take moisturizer separately in any container or on your palm. Any type of good moisturizers will do.

Mix a blush which matches your skin tone with the moisturizer. You need to get opaque mixture. Remember, the ratio of moisturizer and blush should be equal. If you are using a medicated moisturizer, that would be better for pimples or acne problems.

Apply this mixture evenly on the spots. You can see the results.

If the spots are reddish in color, you must choose a blush having yellow undertones. This colored blush will also conceal dark circles under the eyes.

If you want to make a quick on-the-go type of concealer, you can mix loose face powder with any kind of cream.

However, you need to see that you are not using a lot of moisturizer or blush. Please note, there are different kinds of concealers. Some are natural looking, while others are colored. Natural skin-toned concealers are very common, these can hide imperfections easily. Colored concealers are used before applying a concealer and foundation to contrast with the blemishes, thereby covering the spots easily.

Now, whether you choose a creamy or liquid or a powdery concealer, is upto you, in fact you can also mix up any 2 types and use it. For many women, cream cover-ups provide best coverage. But for oily-skinned girls, this is not the case. However, as per reports by many women, powder concealers have a poor lasting power and so many don’t prefer to use it.
