Review : Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation/ Bourjois Paris Fond De Teint Pinceau

RATING – 8.5 OUT OF 10

Here is another product from Bourjois which i purchased recently. It is the Bourjois Paris Fond De Teint Pinceau or the Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation. This foundation is a bit expensive but as i am a foundation addict, i don’t mind generally to spend a bit more in foundation rather than in any other makeup stuffs.

What Bourjois claims about the Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation? : Bourjois Brush Foundation combines a liquid foundation with a convenient, in-built soft-touch applicator.

The foundation contains ‘soft focus’ pigments and silicon elastomer that optimise the diffusion of light and mask blemishes. The brush’s flexible bristles are designed for blending on every area of the face.

How to use the foundation : To use, press a button in the base of the container. Once brushes are coated with foundation, dab on to the face, working outwards for an even finish.

To create maximum impact at a party, dazzle everyone with a flash of metallic colour on your eyes, with these waterproof metallic pencils. Whether you want to match your eye makeup to your new shiny dress, or make intense eye contact with the party guests, your eyes will not go unnoticed.

The Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation comes in a packaging of something like click pen which has a brush at one end. There is a depressor on the other end, which when pressed, foundation flows into the brush and then you can apply the foundation on your face with the help of the brush. But then the brush is not of much use for blending. So it is better to blend with fingertips. One thing which i quite like about this product is that it is travel-friendly.

It provides light coverage and the consistency is quite runny. So if you just need a little something to even out the skin tone and not looking for a great coverage, one click will give out enough product to serve that purpose. I got a powdery matte look after applying the foundation, now as i am a die-hard fan of matte stuffs, thats okay with me. But for girls who love the dewy look, this foundation might not be a good choice. Also in India generally we can find only 5 shades, so finding the right Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation which matches your complexion might be a bit tough task!

The fragrance of this foundation is quite refreshing. Bourjois Paris Brush Foundation costs INR Rs 1120 in India. I am more or less satisfied with the product. However for dry skinned ladies this might not be a good try! Also in winter season, this foundation can causing more dryness and make the face look caked up.

Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow Review

RATING – 6 OUT OF 10

Very recently i did a super mini haul which included a few Bourjois items and then a Deborah foundation, and of course 2 H2O+ skincare stuffs too. So i will be reviewing them one by one soon. Lets start today with the Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow Palette review. I got the trio shade number 5, Rose Vintage. These Bourjois trios come in 10 different shades.

The Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow costs INR 700. This is a baked formulae of Bourjois cosmetics. The pressed eyeshadows look amazing as i surf through the shopping sites. I always wanted to buy all the trios of Bourjois but then i thought of bagging only 1 palette at first, if it works out, then shall try to buy a few more – was what i thought initially!

Baked formula eyeshadows do have a big drawback and that is the pigmentation is poor. However, this eyeshadow gives a decent color payoff. I would recommend one to use a sponge tip applicator instead of an eyeshadow brush to apply these shadows, as then it is easier to pack the shadow on the eyelids. The texture of Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow is soft and satin like and is blendable but then you need to pile on loads of color to get nice pigmentation.

Rose Vintage has got 3 shades of pink. So i guess its cool that you are getting 3 Bourjois eyeshadows in a set. Other shades are perfect to create smokey eyes as i could make out from the swatches and pictures available on the internet. Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow comes in a plastic container with a transparent top lid. Also a dual-ended sponge tip applicator is provided inside the set.

So, lastly i would say considering the price of the eyeshadow trios, the product is simply an okay and in fact i wont be purchasing any other Bourjois trios as i am not at all happy with the color payoff. No exceptional positive points are there in Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadow which would make it stand out from the rest of the brands.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush REVIEW

RATING : 8.5 OUT OF 10

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush is a timeless blusher presented by Bourjois Paris .As the company claims, the formula of the blusher has been in the market for more than one hundred and fifty years and has an amazing texture. The company claims that Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush has a baked texture that can be applied as an ultra fine pressed powder and is easy to apply and is absolutely perfect for touch ups on the go.

Price: For a 2.5 g pack of Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush, you will need to shell out Rs. 575/- that is a bit high compared to other blush products.

Packaging: The packaging is sleek and attractive .The Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush comes in a cute pink colored pot with a built in mirror and the color of the blush is same as that of the pot.

Shades of blush:  Bourjois Little Round Pot blush is available in fifteen shades to choose from. It comes with a rose fragrance that smells good.

Pros: The blush is pigmented and therefore does not leave the skin to be too dry. Also it covers up the whole skin.  Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush can be used both as a dry powder and as wet concealer and therefore saves a lot of time and money. The product stays on the skin for a very long time and does not breaks out to easily. Also the packaging is very sleek and for the product, being light weighted, it can be carried to any place and hence is very convenient.

Cons: The price is high and though the quality is good but the quantity is not. Also there is no ingredient mentioned on the case or the cover thereby making it difficult for people with skin diseases or extremely dry skin to use the Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush.

The Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush is a really good product because of its convenience. It is user friendly and can regularly be used for touch up after a very weary day at work. The verdict goes in favor of the product though the high price is a disadvantage.

Review : Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil ( 73 – Deep Green )

RATING – 7.5 OUT OF 10

Recently I purchased the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil in deep green shade. It costs approximately INR Rs 385. Over the years we girls have been looking for a non-smudging eye pencil, but here Bourjois Paris brings for us a pencil which is meant to be smudged, and women are just loving the smudgy eye look these days. Its so elegant yet sexy! What do you say?

Well of late I have been a great lover of neutrals and smokey smudgy kohl lined eyes, shifting my interest from dramatic bright eyes. I was looking for a green eye pencil, and the Bourjois one was just perfect for me.

The brush
What Bourjois Paris claims about Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil ? –

Double-tipped eyeliner to smudge for a perfect every day smoky look! A smoky look available in several deep and intense shades achievable in 2 simple steps:

1) Outline the eye with the pencil.
2) Smudge with the brush.

Its soft, easy-to-blend tip glides along the lashline for an intense outline in one stroke. Its ultra soft brush made of natural bristles perfectly smudges the formula.

The result: a subtle but incredibly sexy smoky look in just 2 steps!

And it's good for the eyes:
High tolerance formula.
Tested on sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Enriched with natural waxes and vitamins E & C.

The Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is soft and buttery. There is a smudger brush at the back of the pencil which is also soft and meant for smudging the line. I generally apply an all over eye lid color which is kind of beige with a tint of pink, and then I apply the pencil on the upper lashline, and smudge it out and blend it towards the crease. The pencil can be used as an eyeshadow too, and that’s what I love!

I do not apply on the lower lid or waterline, since the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is too prone to smudges, therefore there is a possibility of the color getting transferred to the cheeks after some time. You get a variety of colors, matte as well as shimmery. My pencil was super pigmented. It did not irritate my eyes.

But the Bourjois Paris Effet Smokey Pencil is not waterproof or water-resistant. Then the smudger brush’s bristles are too soft, so I use a separate smudge brush from Vega. Also the staying power of the Bourjois smokey pencil is not good.

REVIEW of Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer

RATING : 6 OUT OF 10
Bourjois stuffs are very popular in the blogosphere these days, so i bought a couple of item from Bourjois online. I have already lamented about the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation (review here) now i am going to review about the Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer.

I am never ever going to be satisfied with the shade choices of Bourjois face products, same with the concealer. Not my match! Anyways Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer blends in well and does not crease. It conceals the dark circles well. The pack looks like a travel-sized toothpaste, but since the concealer is quite pigmented, its gonna last long, one drop is enough.

Swatch
Not the best in the market, but more or less a good one. If you are a Bourjois addict, then perhaps Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Concealer is in your stash already, but me not so pleased with the product. It hides flaws more or less, but does not give the fresh look, i would say. But the concealer is quite moisturising and has a nice smell, but not a “fruity” one ( i mentioned this since Bourjois claims the concealer to be a fruity therapy correcting concealer and you might be expecting some fruity fragrance! ).

REVIEW : Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil

RATING – 8.5 OUT OF 10
These days due to lack of time, many women prefer using eye pencils instead of liquid eyeliners. Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil is an affordable yet a good pencil to invest in. It retails around INR Rs 250 and has amazing shades of eye pencils.

Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil is available in 9 shades – Black, Brown, Blue, Green (dark), Purple, Silver, Turqoise, are included. I avoid using colored eye pencils for my eyes, as i have black pupils. But i love black and brown pencils for eyes. So i got the black pencil for myself. Its shade is “Noir Expert 01”.

What Bourjois claims about Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil :
  • Enriched with pure pigments, this kohl allows for an intense result from the very first stroke and lasts up to 16 hours*.
  • Its soft and blendable formula is ideal to apply both on the inner and outer rims of the eye.
  • Hypoallergenic, with natural wax and vitamin E, it is gentle on the delicate eye contour area.
  • Smooth, intense, rich, glamorous … just your type!
  • High density color in an absolutely must-have pencil. Line, define and smudge your way to smoldering perfection. Safe for contact eye wearer and sensitive eyes.
  • *Scientifically tested on 22 consumers – result obtained on 32% of panelists

Its really a dark black color, i am quite liking the color pay-off. Bourjois Khol & Contour Eyeliner Pencil glides on smoothly. You can not only use it to line the upper lashline, but you can also line the waterline. It did not sting my eyes, so i felt quite comfortable while using it whole day long. When applied on the upper eye lid, it stays intact.

REVIEW : Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation

RATING – 7.5 OUT OF 10
I read rave reviews of Bourjois products, so had to try their foundation anyway since I am a foundation lover. This month my budget exceeded since I bought some of the products double for myself and for the giveaway stuffs. So after trying out the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation myself, I had to buy the same product again for the 10,000 hits giveaway.

I had to buy Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation online and thus could not check out shades. I have got shade 85 Miel Subtil, but it looks ashy and dark on my skin, clearly not my match. So I use it as a daily wear foundation. Its very light weight, cant feel anything on my skin. When you touch the mousse in the jar it appears creamy and sticky but when you put it on your face and it blends in just like powder.

The packaging is jar or tub like, having a black lid. Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation retails for INR Rs 900 for 18 ml pack. Its having a thick mousse like consistency, so one pack will last long certainly. Sadly enough I did not get a kabuki brush free with this foundation, which comes as a freebie for this foundation. The kabuki was another reason for purchasing the foundation.

before blending
after blending
Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation dissappears in the skin within a second after its application giving a matte look instantly. Though my T-Zone started getting oily within 30 minutes, but that’s due to my oily skin and the foundation has nothing to do with it. No cakey or mask like effect, the foundation stays really well for a long time, even though I sweat a lot.

The coverage is medium but do not expect Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation to conceal your acne marks as it does not do that. There is no need of applying loose powder over the foundation though I use powder over foundation since I am having oily skin. It gives almost an airbrushed effect, but not good for photography especially for flash photography. It does not clog the pores and did not break my skin out.

Thus if you are looking for a subtle mineralized foundation for daily wear you may try Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation. As for me, I have got enough reasons to grumble at especially when I compare the pros and cons with the price tag.
