Natio Antioxidant Serum Review

RATING :- 8.9 OUT OF 10

I have recently got this Natio Restore Mature Skin Antioxidant Serum. It costs INR Rs 1685 for a pack of 50 ml. It comes in semi-transparent white plastic bottle with a dropper on top. It has got a mild odor, nothing great, i find it to be not a favourite of mine, and to describe the odor i feel like it smells like diluted mustard oil with a subtle floral note to it. Weird one!

How to apply ? : Gently apply in the morning and/or evening under your day or night cream.

What Natio claims about the Natio Antioxidant Serum ? : Calendula, Jojoba, Sesame, Aloe and Lavender help renew and replenish smooth and refine facial features.
Helps brighten and enhance complexion.

Ingredients : Water, Glycerin, Alcohol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Ceteareth-20, Rosehip Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Turmeric Root Extract, Lavender Oil, Orange Blossom Oil, Orange Peel Oil etc.

Natio Antioxidant Serum has been tagged by the company as serum for Normal to Dry skin, but then when i applied it on my skin, i must tell you it absorbs super fast, tremendously light-weight and after it absorbs you can feel no greasiness and no oiliness at all. So oily skinned girls can also try this out. The product got a gel like feeling when applied on the skin and is very light. It is white in color and very watery. What i  do is i just dot this on my entire face and then massage it lightly all over. I have been applying this only once everyday. The overall texture of the skin is more better and nice i can see.

Since this is an anti-ageing serum for mature skin, i share this with my relative and she has been using this on her for a week or so. But since she uses other skincare products its very difficult to tell which one leads to what effects in particular, but definitely i too feel her skin got better and looks healthy. So i would like to add that Natio Antioxidant Serum is an okayish product for maintenance of your skin looks. Dont know about the renewal of cells claim, but definitely skin looks smoother and brightened up with this. As per the price, the quality is not bad. I might try a few other skincare products from Natio in near future.

Review of Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect

RATINGS : - 8 OUT OF 10

Back after a hiatus. Today i will start by reviewing the Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect. It is a pack of 50 ml and costs INR 3400.

Ingredients :- Water, Glycerin, Jojoba seed oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Shea Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Polyacrylate, Linalool etc

What Thalgo claims about Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect ? :- By combating visible wrinkles and skin sagging, this smooth cream with restructuring Marine Silicum complex smoothes the skin and redefines the oval shape of the face. Your skin will be regenerated and firmer; your lines and wrinkles will feel ‘pushed out’ from within, and the oval of your face will feel ‘lifted’.

Directions of use :- Apply to the face and neck each morning and evening.

Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect comes in a plastic container which is purple in color. The outer packaging is made up of paper and lilac in color. Very neat packaging. Travel friendly. Smells awesome, and the smell stays on long. So if you apply this you will smell good for a long time.

Coming to the results, it is good as a maintenance product. Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect makes the skin look tighter and firmer. Since my mother was already using Thalgo skincare products before, we did not notice any drastic changes. Overall a nice cream, absorbs very fast, not at all greasy. So suitable for any skin type.

Thalgo skincare products are always good to be used, and price is moderate, so one can at least give it a try. May be we did not observe any drastic or major changes, however might repeat this Thalgo Silicum Cream Wrinkle Correction – Lifting Effect in near future.

REVIEW : Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream

RATING : NULL/DISAPPOINTED

Today i shall be reviewing the Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream. It comes with an outer white packaging, with the product in a white tube with grayish lid. It comes in a 15 g pack and is priced at INR 250.

Ingredients : Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Behenyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Silica, Magnesium Aspartate etc.

What Neutrogena claims about Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream? : Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream is a daily eye cream that helps energize skin around the eye area for brighter and fairer looking eyes.

·         Yeast extract – Helps reduce under eye puffiness.
·         Natural minerals – Helps condition and energize skin.
·         Mica – Visibly brightens appearance of eye areas.

For your best fairness results, use in conjuction with range of Neutrogena Fine Fairness products.

So the product is white in color and is creamy but absorbs really well. Generally my mother uses it once a day, and just after application we have noticed the skin around the eyes starts getting tighter and firmer and she can feel the skin getting taut. She does not have much under eye circles, so don’t really know if the brighter fairer under eye area claim is true of Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream. However, on puffiness of the eyes, this product fails to deliver any satisfactory results. It has got a light fragrance.

Since the eye area get so stretched after application of the eye cream, there is a chance of increased wrinkle formation. Overall, i am not at all happy with the Neutrogena Fine Fairness Eye Cream. Also the technique of pulling the skin to reduce under eye bags does not really help! I wont ever repurchase this product.

What is Botox and what are the alternatives to Botox

Brief note about botox -
Botox is produced by a kind of bacteria named clostridium botulinum, and its actually protein. In the past, ophthalmologists used to treat eye muscles with botox. Botox was effective in relaxing the muscles of the eyes. Botox is also used for the treatment of cervical dystonia, where the neck and shoulder muscles get contracted. However, botox is most popular for effectiveness in treatment of wrinkles and fine lines. It has even got the approval of FDA America to do so.

Now, not only botox comes helpful for the treatments of the issues mentioned above, but it helps off-label in various other skin issues. Its used to lift up droppy sagging eyelids and eyebrows. Botox alongwith lasers and fillers enhances the appearance of a person and make him or her look younger.
With so much of benefits one receives from botox, a few side-effects too may come alongwith. Most of the side-effects are very minor, but if one uses botox for a long long time on the face, it can cause face immobilization. Few other side-effects of botox are sagging eyelids, weakness of facial muscles, nauseatic, drying of mouth, sore throat, and teeth problems, resistance to botox, high blood pressure and breathing issues.

Alternatives to botox injections –
Now, as you already read above there are a number of side-effects related to botox treatments. So if you receive botox injections regularly, its high time you try some other alternatives to it. Also, botox injections are quite costly, so its not possible to go through the treatment often if you are on a budget. So below, we shall list a few alternatives to botox, hope that helps.

Topical formulations : Topical applications are safer alternative to botox. The topical creams are now formulated using safe ingredients for the consumers’ benefits. And many of these creams get approval from health authorities, so go for such approved ones. One topical alternative is the Botulinum Toxin Type B. Botox is type A.  Many dermatologists would prescribe this variety if you are botox resistant.

Myectomy surgery : This surgery is also called corrugators excision or corrugators Myectomy and in this surgery the eye muscles which pulls down the eyebrows are just cut and disabled. This prevents formation of facial lines. At times the corrugators muscles is completely removed.

Other options : There are a number of other alternatives to botox like face lift, or eye lift or eye brow lift. Injecting dermal fillers and laser resurfacing are other two popular alternatives to botox injections.

There is a new skin treatment fast emerging in the beauty industry and replacing botox injections. It is the Relaxed Expression treatment. It also called REX, and uses radiofrequency energy which are targeted on the motor nerves which connect muscles to forehead, and weaken these nerves. These motor nerves are responsible for frown lines.

How to prevent sagging face and neck (Picture Courtesy : bodytonique)
Once the ageing process sets in, that is usually from the late 20s, we have face and neck wrinkles. Wrinkles are way different that sagging skin on face and neck, though. Wrinkles can still be concealed with the help of makeup, but sagging skin cant be. So right from your early 20s you need to take care of your skin on your face and neck since the skin is very delicate in these areas and also sensitive.

The skin on your face and neck is thinner than the rest of the body, and has only a few sebaceous glands. Lipids present in the skin protect the skin from the harsh sun rays and the harmful UVA and UVB which are also present in less amount in these areas.

Take adequate rest – You need rest not only for the internal organs but also for your skin. So always take enough rest which is beneficial for your skin, and if possible sleep on your back, which will prevent any creasing on the face.

Moisturize your skin – If you want to prevent occurrence of wrinkles and sagging skin, keep your skin moisturized always. Look for the essential components like Retin-A, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Glycolic acid and Shea butter in cream or moisturizer that you use. These ingredients will not only protect the skin from wrinkles and sagginess but also firm the skin.

Adopt a healthy diet – Make sure you have a healthy diet plan and you take lot of seafood, almonds and food items rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Even flaxseed and avocados are helpful. Also, if you like chocolates, grab dark chocolates and have it everyday as it contains flavonoids.

Exercise not only for your body but skin – Anaerobic exercises improves the texture of facial and neck skin. You can also combine strength training exercises with these. Below the outer layer of the skin, there is collagen which decreases with age and thus helps in the formation of wrinkles and saggy skin. Exercising will boost the level of collagen and strengthen the neck muscles thus tightening the skin.

Monitor your lifestyle – Smoking is one thing which can actually aggravate ageing skin. So make sure you quit smoking or at least decrease the number of smokes per day. Also too much of alcohol may not be good for your skin.
