REVIEW : Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour

RATING :- 8.5 OUT OF 10

Back again after a long time and I am going to review the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour today. The outer packaging is light blue in color and looks simple and neat. I got the shade 4.31 Coffee Natural Brown. It costs just INR Rs 89.

What Bblunt claims about the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour ? :

Simply take the luxuriously creamy Colourant and Developer together in equal proportions and add the Shine Tonic. Now mix till smooth for a fragrant, non-drip blend. Apply and Voila! You’re only 30 minutes away from epic, shiny hair!

Be spoilt for choice with Bblunt Salon Secret’s blockbuster shades that beautifully complement Indian skin-tones. Results will vary basis your natural colour and extent of greys. For tips from our expert stylists refer to the instruction leaflet.

100% Grey Coverage
Soft Shiny Hair
No Ammonia
Lasts Up to 8 Weeks

The Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour kit contains :
i)                    Salon Secret Developer
ii)                   Salon  Secret Colourant
iii)                 2 Shine Tonic Sachets
iv)                 Gloves
v)                  Easy Instructions for Usage

How to use ? : Put on the gloves and open the tubes marked Colourant, Developer. Squeeze the entire content of the Colourant and Developer tubes into a non-metallic bowl along with both the Shine Tonic sachets. Now using a tinting brush, mix it together until its creamy and smooth. Apply the mixture immediately on your hair with a tinting brush. Leave in for 30 minutes. You can leave it in for 45 minutes if you want darker shade. Add a small amount of water and emulsify the product, then keep adding water and emulsify for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water till the water runs clear. Use your favourite shampoo and conditioner and shampoo your hair as usual.

Now what I felt after I made one of my relatives try this on in front of me is what I am going to mention here. After the entire process was completed, I could see Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour living upto its one of the claims, full grey coverage. And yes there were no greys. Not just that, the hair also got a bit of shine, which I guess was due to the shine tonic. And overall the hair looked well pampered and styled. Now coming to the staying power of the color, it does not stay for almost 2 months, but you can expect it to stay for several weeks if you have less grey. And I believe for best results, it is recommended to use the Bblunt shampoo and conditioner with this, which I did not have.

The hair absolutely felt soft and looked shiny after the application of Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour. This hair color comes in 7 shades which are as follows –
1 Black, 2.10 Blueberry Blue Black, 3 Chocolate Dark Brown, 4.31 Coffee Natural Brown, 5.32 Honey Light Golden Brown, 4.56 Mahogany Reddish Brown, 4.20 Wine Deep Burgundy. Now as mentioned previously, I got the natural brown shade. Which looked almost black when applied and washed on hair. It got a nice smell, and since the company says the color is ammonia free, I believe no damage would be caused to the hair if one applies this. A safe affordable and better hair color choice indeed.

I like the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour and would purchase this again if I think of doing hair color again (since I don’t apply any type of color on my hair yet). This is pocket friendly, does not contain harmful chemicals and also stays on the hair long giving it a nice salon like finish, and all that with such an affordable price tag. Also, if you use it just to color some parts of your hair, then one pack will easily last for 2 times usage. The only thing which I can say does not fall in my likes list regarding this product, is of course that if someone got lot of greys then this color does not stay long enough, and would need touch ups after 2 weeks or so. Rest are all fine.

Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color REVIEW

RATING : - 8.7 OUT OF 10

Recently i got the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color to try. Since i dont color my hair, i gave this to my mother to try this out. Now this comes in a light sky blue cardboard packaging, and inside you get 5 things - Developer, Colourant, Shine Tonic, Instructional Manual and Gloves. The packaging is very neat, nothing fancy though. The first 3 items come in tubes, with the names written clearly on the front sides of the tubes. It contains 100 g and 8 ml of the product inside and costs INR Rs 199. Very pocket-friendly.

I got the shade Mahogany Reddish Brown 4.56. Now since my mother applies henna weekly, any hair color wont really show up on the hair due to that. However, we gave this a try, and i am impressed with the result. I have already attached two pictures of BEFORE and AFTER, and as you can see the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color has completely covered up the grey hair. Let me tell you, we are just half way through the pack, and we have some more left for one more touch-up. She has already completed 7 days after application, and i can see the color is still intact. Well, the shade is not visible on her hair, however covering up has been done effectively by this Bblunt hair color.

There are 7 shades to choose from and thats really an advantage as these days many of us want to try a lot of colors on our hair. The shades are :
  •  Blueberry, Blue Black 2.10
  • Wine, Deep Burgundy 4.20
  • Mahogany, Reddish Brown 4.26
  • Chocolate, Dark Brown 3
  • Black, Natural Black 1
  • Coffee, Natural Brown 4.31
  • Honey Light Golden Brown 5.32

The company claims that the hair color gives 100% grey coverage which is very true. Also this contains no ammonia so Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color is safe for your hair.

Before & After using Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color
What we felt after i tried this on my mother's hair is that the hair is much softer after using this hair color. Could not see much of shine though. However, at the price of just 199 Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color is giving an awesome salon-like treatment to the hair. No more greys, hair is softer smoother. I am sure the color would have showed up nicely, if she was not using henna or something, but anyways am pretty pleased with the hair color, and might myself try another shade from this Bblunt range. Right now, i just cant think of any pros about this particular hair color, as i rarely use hair colors. However, you can be rest assured that this hair color is quite mild and gentle for your hair and wont damage your hair at all, as i can see a lot of smoothness in my mom's skin even after a week. Definitely if you are going to try out hair color at home for the first time and wont want to invest a lot of money, this is apt for you then.

Worried about how to use the Bblunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Color? Then have a look at this video click here and definitely to know more about Bblunt products, you should visit their website here

How to take care of permed hair

Picture Courtesy : pinterest (How to take care of permed hair)
Permed hair needs a lot of care to be incorporated in the hair care routine. In this blog post, i shall provide you a few tips on how to take care of permed hair. Read on.

·         Very importantly, permed hair needs deep conditioning. This helps the hair to retain the texture.
·         Dont wash your hair unless at least 48 hours has passed by, after your hair has undergone this procedure of hair perming.
·         For the first few days, avoid tying up your hair with any kind of rubber bands, or hair ties or tight clips. Those stuffs can reshape your hair into an odd shape with dents. Try to keep the hair loose for the first week.
·         Conditioners wont harm or ruin your permed hair. Therefore, always condition your hair after shampooing it. Use a conditioner that is specially formulated for chemically treated hair.
·         Blow drying the hair can make your hair fragile, so try to avoid it as much as possible. Air drying is the best option for your permed hair.
·         Whenever you go out in the sun, try to wear a hat or scarf to cover the hair and protect it. Also if you swim, use a hair cap, so that your hair is not exposed to chlorinated water which causes damage to hair.

How to make homemade hair conditioners

Just cleaning or washing the hair with a good shampoo is not enough, its important to use a hair conditioner in the hair after shampooing it. Hair conditioner moisturizes the hair and makes it healthy. As we know, commercial hair conditioners contain a lot of chemicals which might affect the mane in a negative manner, so natural homemade products are safer and better in many ways. In this article, we shall give you some tips on how to make homemade hair conditioners.

Aloe vera-coconut oil homemade hair conditioner – Aloe vera and coconut oil not only repairs damaged hair but also make the hair lot more healthy and adds shine to it. Making homemade aloe vera and coconut oil conditioner is not a difficult task. Just take a cup and put two tablespoonful each of aloe vera and coconut oil in it. Put half cup of water in the mixture. And thats done!
Wet your hair, and apply this mixture. Keep it for 15 minutes and after that wash it off with water. If you have extreme dry hair, just apply the conditioner and don’t rinse it after that. This will help to style the hair.

Honey-yogurt homemade hair conditioner – This particular homemade hair conditioner is an extra moisturizing treatment which takes care of breakage of hair as well as split ends. Just mix 1 tablespoonful of white yogurt with 3 teaspoonful of honey, and put it on your hair. Leave it for 15 minutes. Take lukewarm water and wash your hair with it.

Argan oil-shea butter homemade hair conditioner – Shea butter has moisturizing properties and argan oil makes hair soft, so this home conditioner will make the hair silky smooth. You just need half cup of shea butter and mix it with 3 tablespoonful of argan oil. Wet your hair and apply the conditioner on the hair.

Homemade mint hair conditioner – If your hair and scalp gets oily very soon, you must try the homemade mint hair conditioner. It will cleanse the hair squeaky clean, and also add nice fragrance to the hair. Just take fresh mint leaves and boil it in water upto 10 minutes. Using a strainer, strain the liquid. Let it cool down. Then you can apply the conditioner on your wet hair. And rinse thoroughly after sometime.

Pigtails or Plaits for Summer

Many of us do think pigtails go well only with school kids and once we are out of school, we must totally abandon the pigtail hair style or hair do. However, in the past few years, pigtail is back on the runway. It was first seen in the Prada’s Spring 2010 Fashion Show. Post that pigtails were again seen on the runway at the Marc by Marc Jacob’s Fall 2014 Show. Ad recently in the Givenchy Fall 2015 Show we saw the slick ‘chola Victorian’ style braids in action! There is something dark and edgy about the ponytails and braids as well as sweet and youthful.

There are many kinds of plaits or braids, like the Basic one, French plaits, Plaited Headband, Side plait, Fishtail plait, Rope plait, Five Strand plait etc. However, in this article i shall write about the basic plait, how to do a basic plait.

How to do a Basic Plait :-

Brush your hair well – Start with clean conditioned hair. Brush your hair properly and then start.

Divide the hair – Section your hair into 3 parts : middle, left and right.

Criss-crossing the right hair strand  – Hold the 3 strands ad cross the right hair strand on top of the mid section. It should look like the right hair section is the middle part while the mid section is the right.

Criss-crossing the left hair strand – Now, on top of the new mid section, cross the left hair part. The strands should be switched.

Repeat – Repeat the process of crossing the right and left sections of the hair over middle portion until you have plaited your hair upto the length you want.

Tie the hair – Tie off the hair at end using a ribbon or hair band or clip.

So, thats all about basic plait ad the steps to do a basic plait. Try it out at home or out because plaits are not just pretty, but also functional.

How to remove hair color or hair dye from hair

It often happens, we color our hair in a frenzy and later on start regretting and try to get rid of the hair color as soon as possible. But you need not worry, as in this article we will be discussing some simple ways to get rid of hair color or dye.

Expensive treatments at a hair salon to remove hair color may not be the best option for all. Therefore we need to try out the easy steps at home which will help us to strip off that dye from hair. However, make sure you know your hair type before trying anything at home by yourself. And always choose a way which will be least damaging to your hair. So read on to know how to remove hair color easily and get back your natural hair color.

Use Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – If you have got some semi-permanent hair dye on your mane, you can wash off your hair a couple of times with a good anti-dandruff shampoo to remove all the hair color. However, do not forget to condition your hair after shampooing it with anti-dandruff shampoo, because this type of shampoo will make hair dry.

Bath Salts – If the bath salts you use got Epsom salts and sodium bicarbonate in them, you can use them to remove hair color. You just need to take water in a big container or bowl, put bath salts in it and soak your hair in it. Keep it for a long time. If your hair got a lot of color, you can see the pigments flowing out.

Vitamin C for hair – For this method, you need to mix Vitamin C tablets and shampoo. Take 2 Vitamin C tablets of 1000 mg each. Vitamin C powders too can be used. Now mix the Vitamin C powder, after you have crushed the tablets, with shampoo, and apply it on your hair. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse after that.

Hair Color Removers – There are 2 types of color removers available, one is color stripper and the other is color reducer. Color reducers cause minimum damage to hair, so its better to use them. Color stripper is more of bleach. While using a color reducer, stick to the manufacturer’s instructions so that your natural hair color is not messed up, only the artificial hair color is removed.

Bleach the hair – This is one of the most popular ways of getting rid of hair color from hair, but remember this is a harsh way of removing dye from hair. So, use this method only if all other methods have failed to give you the desired result, because bleaching the hair will damage the hair. If the hair color is already lighter, avoid bleaching. Only in case of strong permanent hair dye, try bleaching.

So that was it. As you have already found out, removing hair color from the hair at home is not at all a difficult task. However, please use a conditioner on your hair after trying any of the above mentioned procedure.

Granny Hair / Silver Gray Hair Color Trend

Have you ever envied your grand ma’s hair? If not, then now is the right time to be envious of her gray luscious locks, because gray hair is totally IN these days and its safe to call gray as the new blonde!

Throughout all these years we have seen people around us struggle and spend loads of money to keep gray hair at bay. But today the scenario has changed and young and aged alike are giving in to the new hair trend of grey hair color. I know, at first you might be very bewildered and wont even dare to imagine gray hair on you. But who knows, tomorrow you might just fall in love with this season’s trend.

Several social networking sites are using the tag #grannyhair while women from all over the world are posting their snaps flaunting the new hair color. Celebs like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Pink, Kelly Osbourne have already embraced this grey/ white/ lavender hair color. According to an ace hair stylist from New York, granny hair is basically silver hair with undertones of any gray color or silver or even plum.

So anyways if you are looking to get those granny hair on you, i mean, to get your hair gray, then please keep in mind this grey hair would require a very light color base. So if you have dark hair, you need to bleach those locks or lighten them into a blonde color. And thereafter the grey color can be used to get the grey hair that you wanna have.

As soon as this new hair style or tend stormed the beauty industry, many salons are offering this service, but not every salon will be able to dye your hair gray. Because not all hairstylists have been trained to do so. So while you are trying to book an appointment to get your hair done, make sure that the hair-stylist is trained to help you to get gray granny hair. Also granny hair style does not come cheap. And every month touch ups required. The process is long, it takes couple of hour to bleach or lighten natural hair and then the color application requires a few hours. All total, the entire process might require even upto 7 hours. Granny hair has been announced by many beauty and style magazines and blogs to be the hottest hair trend of 2015. So you may try this trend soon. My best wishes! :)

How to grow hair fast

If you have always wondered how to make your hair grow fast, then this article can be of help to you. We would like to discuss the methods which can help you to grow your mane faster than usual.

Now its important to mention here that there are no full-proof scientific method to increase the growth of hair, but obviously one can stimulate hair growth. Some of the steps which can help you to grow your hair faster are as below :-

Go for such hair products which will suit your type of hair and also provide the mane lustre and protect it from the roots.

Hair requires amino acids to grow, and protein is the source of amino acid. Hair is basically made up of Keratin, and this keratin can be obtained from amino acids only. Therefore consumption of proteins is absolutely necessary. You can also go for keratin hair treatments in hair salons and spas. If done regularly, these hair treatments will make the hair healthy and also add shine to the hair.

Dry scalp leads to dandruff formation, which prevents the growth of hair. So take care of your hair so that your scalp does not become dry.

While stepping out in the sun, you must protect your hair from sunrays, dust and dirt and pollution. Wear a scarf around your head while going out in the sun. Sun damages the hair, and dust helps in dandruff formation.

Not only you need protein, but also Vitamin A and Vitamin C, and iron and zinc. If you are not taking iron and zinc rich food,  that can lead to poor health of the hair as well as loss of hair.

Always stick to healthy diet plans as poor diet will lead to unhealthy hair.

How can you fix fried hair

At times we mess up with our hair. Reasons for fried hair can be multiple like using the curling or flat iron for too long on the mane, or may be staying for a long long time out in the sun or it can be your hair stylist who has dyed your locks white blonde! Whenever your hair looks and feels very dry and just like a straw, you should know its a case of fried hair! However ladies you need not panic, there are quick fixes even if you have goofed up this time. ;) Read on.
Some easy tips are like trim your hair after every 3 weeks and also keep your hair curlers and flat irons at a distance and dont use these hot tools regularly. However if you have messed it up already, you need to know some options on how you can repair your mane. So here we give you few tips to get your fried hair repaired.

Deep conditioning for your hair – Use a hair conditioner which is specifically made for dry rough mane. It should have keratin in it. Apply the conditioner generously and keep it on for few minutes. Let the conditioner absord in the shaft of the hair and this would soften your hair. For the first three weeks, deep condition your hair at least 2 times. And keep the conditioner on your hair at least for 10 minutes before you wash it off.

Also avoid washing your hair regularly. Water makes the hair dry.

Use hair dryer after conditioning  - Pick a hair conditioner which has cetyl alcohol. Cetly alcohol is an ultrarich fatty acid which holds in the moisture on the hair. Put conditioner on the hair through a comb and then blow dry your hair. After this, rinse it off.

Mask for hair – Make a hair pack containing 2 tablespoonful each of rinse-out hair conditioner, deep hair conditoner, leave-in conditioner and also any good hair mask. Next use a comb to apply this mixture onto the hair from middle part of the hair . Now, take 2 wet towels, wring them out and then put them in the microwave to heat them for 2 minutes or so. Then wrap up your hair with the hot towels. This procedure of deep conditioning the hair should be done at least once a week.

Trim off the damaged hair – If you want to repair your damaged hair, the best way is to trim it. If you want a good shape of the hair, go for trimming after every 3 weeks. And avoid using curling irons, flat irons etc. Any kind of processing on the hair should be avoided if your hair is already damaged. Relaxers are very harsh on the hair, so are bleach, permanent coloring agents. For damaged hair, highlights are better option rather than full coloring of hair. And if you want darker shade go for glaze and not dye. And if you have gray hair and want to cover it up, demi-permanent formulae is best for your mane then.
