Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo REVIEW

RATING :- 7 OUT OF 10

I have been using the Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo for about 3 weeks now. It contains about 200 ml of the product and costs INR Rs 299. I bought this Avon shampoo online. The product got an amazing scent with a bit of minty or camphor odor in it as it has peppermint oil in it.

What Avon claims about the Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo ? : This gentle conditioning shampoo contains Keratin, a key component of hair, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and silky. When used with Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall conditioner, it reduces hair breakage that can occur with daily brushing and styling as well as helps to prevent future damage.

How to use ? : Wet hair and lather. Rinse, repeat if necessary. Follow with Advanced Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner.

Ingredients : Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocomide Mea, Acrylates Copolymer, Dimethicone, Parfum, Citric Acid, Keratin, Disodium Edta, Peppermint Oil etc.

Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo comes in a gray plastic bottle with a black cap. Its a flip-open cap. The product inside is white in color and kind of runny in consistency. It lathers up quickly so thats one good thing. And completely cleans up the hair, thoroughly. I usually wash my hair twice a week or thrice if i am using this shampoo, the hair remains quite smooth and soft for long. I did not get the same conditioner as has been instructed by the company, however i do use my normal conditioner alongwith the shampoo.

Though the softness, smoothness of hair claims seem to be true, the anti-hair fall claim is definitely not true. It is not helping in anyway to reduce hair fall so if you are buying the Avon Advance Techniques Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo just because of hairfall, you may be hugely disappointed. However, opinions might change if the conditioner is also used alongwith the shampoo. For now, i would just put this right here that i am not at all a fan of this shampoo when it comes to hair fall control. But for the softness of the hair and since it cleans the hair very well, i am going to rate this good. So definitely, one can try this out if hairfall is not the issue you are thinking of getting resolved with this. I might repeat this one sometime in future as i quite like the product minus the anti-hair fall shampoo claims.

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Conditioner REVIEW

RATING :- 4 OUT OF 10

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Conditioner comes in an opaque plastic bottle which is olive green in color with a golden cap. It comes in a 175 ml pack and costs INR Rs 170.

What Garnier claims about the Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Conditioner ? :  Garnier Ultra Blends is a complete haircare range with precious natural ingredients, finely selected for their known efficacy on hair and blended in paraben-free formulas. Discover our bespoke blends for your everyday hair needs.
Roughness, dullness, frizz are signs of under-nourished hair. Our formula is a blend with Virgin Olive oil, that is rich in Vitamin E. The formula helps to nourish and protect even the most dry and rough hair. Discover hair that is intensely nourished and incredibly easy to manage.

Ingredients : Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Amodimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Olive Fruit Oil, Trideceth-6, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Safflower Seed Oil, Caramel, Cetyl Esters, Cetearyl Alcohol, BHT, Citric Acid, etc.

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Conditioner got a nice smell, similar to Garnier conditioners the Ultra Doux ones. The product is white in color and creamy, and i just apply it on the damp hair, keep it for 2-3 minutes and then rinse it off with water. The hair becomes a bit softer. I use this generally with the Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Shampoo (read review here). But i am not convinced with the results. I cant really comment on the nourishment, however the hair is not that shiny or silky smooth as has been claimed by the brand. Yes, it adds a bit of softness to the hair, and that is done by most of the hair conditioners, nothing special here. Overall, this is a major disappointment and i would not like to try any more shampoos or conditioners from this range right now.

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Shampoo REVIEW

RATING :- 4 OUT OF 10

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Shampoo comes in a plastic bottle which is semi-transparent and olive green in color and the flip-open cap is golden in color. It costs INR Rs 120 for a pack of 180 ml. The shampoo is runny and almost colorless, and got a syrupy smell.

What Garnier claims about the Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Shampoo ? : Garnier Ultra Blends is a complete haircare range with precious natural ingredients, finely selected for their known efficacy on hair and blended in paraben-free formulas. Discover our bespoke blends for your everyday hair needs.
Roughness, dullness, frizz are signs of under-nourished hair. Our formula is a blend with Virgin Olive oil, that is rich in Vitamin E. The formula helps to nourish and protect even the most dry and rough hair. Discover hair that is intensely nourished and incredibly easy to manage.

Ingredients : Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coco-Betaine, Cocomide MIPA, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Olive fruit oil, Salicylic Acid, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Carboxylic Acid etc.

Garnier Ultra Blends Deep Nourishing Shampoo appears to be a very mild light shampoo, it does not cleanse the hair thoroughly. I am not sure about the nourishing part as it is something which cant be seen from outside. The hair gets greasy and oily just after a day or two and immediately after shampooing the hair too, i dont feel it cleanses the hair totally. The shampoo is very runny and as mentioned before got a smell, which does not last longer though. The shampoo is totally colorless. However, the hair does not get dry after using this, so whoever got dry hair might be relieved because of this. Since my scalp is oily, i need to struggle though. The shampoo is known to contain mythic olive oil and therefore should really nourish the hair that is if it actually contains it though. This claims to give silkier smoother shinier hair but i personally did not find any such changes in my hair. Just that my hair got oilier and greasy, thats it. Overall, i did not like the shampoo so i would not be repurchasing this.

Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque Review

RATING :- 9 OUT OF 10

Here is another product the Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque which i have been using for sometime now. It contains 490 g of the product and costs INR Rs 690. The container is all orange, and plastic made.

What Opti Care Matrix claims about the Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque ? : Opti Care Smooth Straight is a professional haircare line formulated to help control and smooth chemically straightened hair. Enriched with Silk Amino Acids and Shea Butter to help protect, condition and moisturize for healthy looking, silky, shiny hair.

Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque
Intense conditioning to satisfy the extreme needs of very dry, coarse or chemically straightened hair. Smoothes texture and disciplines frizz to leave hair soft and manageable.

How to use ? : Apply to clean, damp hair. Distribute evenly, section by section. Leave on hair for 15 minutes, with or without heat. Rinse thoroughly. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.

Ingredients : Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Shea Butter, Benzyl Salicylate etc.

Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque has got a nice refreshing fragrance. I just love it. The consistency of the product is creamy and i apply it just as directed on my wet damp hair. And when i start rinsing it off with water, it lathers up a bit. The smoothness that the hair gets from the masque stays at least for full 2 days. The hair is much lighter, and fine without any tangles and very smooth and soft to touch. Also there is a bit of shine on the hair. The hair does not look limp or dull at all for the 2 days.

My hair is not chemically treated or straightened, but it is quite rough and dull. So after using this Opti Care Matrix Professional Ultra Smoothing Masque i have observed a lot of difference in my hair. Totally love this amazing haircare product. I will certainly repurchase this product and also try some other new stuffs from Matrix.

Review of Pantene Silky Smooth Care Conditioner

RATING : 8 OUT OF 10

Long back i reviewed the Pantene Silky Smooth Care Shampoo (read here), so now its time for me to review the conditioner from the same range. It comes in a white plastic container with a flip open top and the bottle is white in color while the cap is golden yellow in color. It contains 175 ml of the product and costs INR Rs 120.

What Pantene claims about Pantene Silky Smooth Care Conditioner ? :

Balances moisture for smooth hair.
Damaged hair cannot balance moisture. Hair loses essential moisture when dry and absorbs excess moisture when humid.

Pro-V Moisture Balance formula
Helps hair regain its ability to balance moisture – lock in essential moisture and shut out excess humidity.
Smooth hair all day in any weather.
Rich conditioning formula for enhanced nourishment and protection.
No dye. No Paraben.

Directions to use : After shampoo, massage onto wet hair gently. Rinse off thoroughly.

Ingredients : Water, Dimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Silk Extract, Benzyl Salicylate etc.

Pantene products are one of my favourites. I got this bottle of Pantene Silky Smooth Care Conditioner quite sometime back. I absolutely love the creamy texture of the conditioner. Its white in color and has a nice mild smell. After using this Pantene conditioner the hair becomes instantly softer. This is what i like about this product so much. The softness stays on and my hair is much more manageable throughout the day, post using this.

However the softness does not stay more than 12 hours or so i believe. And if you wash your hair regularly then the softness will go away easily. Pantene Silky Smooth Care Conditioner is overall a nice product. Wish the silkiness of the hair stayed on for a couple of days. But at least it stays on for around a day, which is quite commendable at the price. The hair also looks shiny and healthy.

Definitely i will repurchase this product sometime in near future.

How to make homemade hair conditioners

Just cleaning or washing the hair with a good shampoo is not enough, its important to use a hair conditioner in the hair after shampooing it. Hair conditioner moisturizes the hair and makes it healthy. As we know, commercial hair conditioners contain a lot of chemicals which might affect the mane in a negative manner, so natural homemade products are safer and better in many ways. In this article, we shall give you some tips on how to make homemade hair conditioners.

Aloe vera-coconut oil homemade hair conditioner – Aloe vera and coconut oil not only repairs damaged hair but also make the hair lot more healthy and adds shine to it. Making homemade aloe vera and coconut oil conditioner is not a difficult task. Just take a cup and put two tablespoonful each of aloe vera and coconut oil in it. Put half cup of water in the mixture. And thats done!
Wet your hair, and apply this mixture. Keep it for 15 minutes and after that wash it off with water. If you have extreme dry hair, just apply the conditioner and don’t rinse it after that. This will help to style the hair.

Honey-yogurt homemade hair conditioner – This particular homemade hair conditioner is an extra moisturizing treatment which takes care of breakage of hair as well as split ends. Just mix 1 tablespoonful of white yogurt with 3 teaspoonful of honey, and put it on your hair. Leave it for 15 minutes. Take lukewarm water and wash your hair with it.

Argan oil-shea butter homemade hair conditioner – Shea butter has moisturizing properties and argan oil makes hair soft, so this home conditioner will make the hair silky smooth. You just need half cup of shea butter and mix it with 3 tablespoonful of argan oil. Wet your hair and apply the conditioner on the hair.

Homemade mint hair conditioner – If your hair and scalp gets oily very soon, you must try the homemade mint hair conditioner. It will cleanse the hair squeaky clean, and also add nice fragrance to the hair. Just take fresh mint leaves and boil it in water upto 10 minutes. Using a strainer, strain the liquid. Let it cool down. Then you can apply the conditioner on your wet hair. And rinse thoroughly after sometime.

Beauty tips to look your best during periods

When you are on your periods, the entire body undergoes a big hormonal change which can affect your skin in a negative way. Most common period beauty issues includes dull rough skin, big facial pores, puffiness around the eyes, flat limp hair to name a few.

However, you can get rid of many of the periods beauty problems which are due to the hormonal changes, if you follow some beauty tips for menstruating women. Whether you have acne prone skin, or oily skin or dry skin, here are a number of beauty tips for you.

Fake the facial glow – If you got dull skin, you need to simply conceal the problem and fake a glow. Any makeup products like foundations, blushes, concealers etc with illuminating particles would be of great help. You can also take the help of herbal facial masks which contain lot of antioxidants.

Combat oiliness – During your periods, your estrogen levels get lower and hence skin tends to get quite oily. So one of the best beauty tips for menstruating women is to grab the right facial cleanser for skin. Go for a cleanser which is low in pH and has anti-inflammatory properties. Skin products suitable for oily skin can be used too, because generally those contain salicylic acid.  You can take the help of sulphur masks to clean up pores well which will prevent bacteria build-up which leads to pimples.

Depuff eye area – Puffiness around the eye areas can make you feel uncomfortable. Its very important to stay hydrated. Also massage helps to fight the fluid retention. Use your cleanser on the puffy eye areas in the morning in a gentle circular motion.

Take care of pores – You must keep the pores clean so that they appear smaller, this is a very important beauty tip for women on their periods. Salicylic acid as well as glycolic acid keeps the pores clean. However here’s a homemade remedy to shrink facial pores. Just take baking soda and mix water with it to make a paste. Cleanse your face daily with this paste.

Get rid of dry patchy skin – Low levels of estrogen can also make the dry skin, depending on the type of skin you actually have. Go for thick layering of moisturizers and apply it frequently so that your skin is soft and supple always. However remember to wash your face often, so that your skin pores don’t get clogged with all those skincare products.

Right makeup during periods – Switch to cream makeup products from powders. Moisturize your lips well before applying any lip color. Also use eye primer on the eyelids if you are going for cream eye shadows.

Sun protection – Your skin’s sensitivity to the sun can increase as the hormonal levels change during menstruation cycles. So skipping sunscreen can lead to more sun burns and tan. So avoid using just the makeup products with a bit of SPF in it, instead go for full fledged sunscreen lotions, and apply it before applying foundation. This will protect the skin from sunrays all day long.

Haircare – If your hair gets dry during periods, and the hair volume is not that great, condition your hair well. Protect it from heat too. If you use a blow dryer, go for a cooler setting. Also volumnizing hair products are of great help during these days. Also a bit of hair shine spray can add a touch of shine or gloss on the hair.

Diet – Last but not the least, your diet is of much importance when it comes to beauty tips for women in their periods. If you don’t follow a proper diet, you wont have a flawless skin. So take a diet full of polyphenols and even phytoestrogens, which can include flax seeds to chocolates. Too much of carb intake should be avoided during the menstruation.

REVIEW : Pantene Pro-V Silky Smooth Care Shampoo

RATING : 9 OUT OF 10

Hello girls, i have been using this shampoo from Pantene for sometime now, and i love this one so much that i had to review. Pantene Pro-V Silky Smooth Care Shampoo.

Ingredients : Water, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Cinnamal, Panthenol, Hydrochloric Acid, Silk Extract etc

Directions to use : Massage onto wet scalp/hair gently. Rinse off thoroughly.

Pantene Pro-V Silky Smooth Care Shampoo comes in a white plastic container with a golden top. It costs INR Rs 155 for a pack of 180 ml. As Pantene claims, the shampoo ‘helps prevent damage for smooth hair’, thus giving one smooth silky hair. The shampoo is basically in white in color, a bit thick, and you will need a good amount of the shampoo to cleanse your hair well if you have long hair. I need to use almost 4 times coin sized amount to be applied on my hair. Does not lather much unfortunately, so need more product to get the cleansing done properly. The fragrance is nice, not that strong too, and goes away within a day.

I am pretty much satisfied after using the Pantene Pro-V Silky Smooth Care Shampoo. The hair gets silky and stays manageable for at least 2 days, note i have rough frizzy hair. So you can guess, its not manageable at times, however with Pantene, that issue has been sorted out. And i did not even use any conditioner after shampooing for the test, and the smooth feeling stayed for 3 days. After that obviously i had to shampoo as my hair needs cleansing after 2-3 days since scalp gets oily very soon making hair dull. :(

Yes, i would love to repurchase the Pantene Pro-V Silky Smooth Care Shampoo because it works really well on my rough dry hair.
