RATING – 4 OUT OF 10
When it comes to sunscreen I swear by Lotus sunscreens. I have been in love with my Lotus UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50 for more than a year now, and have not switched over to anyother sunblocks until recently when I picked up Lotus Herbals Multi-Function Sunblock SPF-70. Well according to the company, this sunblock is an extraordinary sunblock containing carrot and avocado extracts. Its high in SPF, contains SPF 70! Also the sunblock is tinted, and is non-oily.
What Lotus claims about Lotus Herbals Multi-Function Sunblock SPF-70 : A revolutionary, preservative - free, light weight formulation containing potent herbal extracts with 10 benefits:
· High UVA & UVB Protection
· Tan Prevention
· Prevention of brown spots & pigmentation
· Skin Lightening benefits
· Anti-wrinkle benefits
· Protection from freckles, sun spots & sun burn
· Anti-ageing properties
· Health prevention - helps prevent skin cancer
· Carrot & Avocado Extracts: healing properties that soften, smoothen and nourish skin
· Preservative free - Free from harmful preservatives like parabens, which may cause health problems like breast cancer.
Packaging is same as that of anyother Lotus sunblocks, comes in a orange plastic tube. It works more as a tinted moisturiser than a non-oily sunblock. I don’t wear foundation daily due to so much of heat, but assume the sunblock will be a good foundation primer. I am not a fan of BB creams and tinted moisturisers so this product has left me a bit dissapointed.
Price of Lotus Herbals Multi-Function Sunblock SPF-70 in India is INR Rs 495, which is quite pricey for a sunblock which leaves a white cast on my face if applied without any foundation or compact powder. Well its not oily, that’s true. But the whitish cast is an obvious day spoiler!
I am not going to re-purchase Lotus Herbals Multi-Function Sunblock SPF-70. Its not just worth the price. I am much more comfortable using the matte gel as sunblock.
