Expensive treatments at a hair salon to remove hair color may not be the best option for all. Therefore we need to try out the easy steps at home which will help us to strip off that dye from hair. However, make sure you know your hair type before trying anything at home by yourself. And always choose a way which will be least damaging to your hair. So read on to know how to remove hair color easily and get back your natural hair color.

Use Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – If you have got some semi-permanent hair dye on your mane, you can wash off your hair a couple of times with a good anti-dandruff shampoo to remove all the hair color. However, do not forget to condition your hair after shampooing it with anti-dandruff shampoo, because this type of shampoo will make hair dry.

Bath Salts – If the bath salts you use got Epsom salts and sodium bicarbonate in them, you can use them to remove hair color. You just need to take water in a big container or bowl, put bath salts in it and soak your hair in it. Keep it for a long time. If your hair got a lot of color, you can see the pigments flowing out.

Vitamin C for hair – For this method, you need to mix Vitamin C tablets and shampoo. Take 2 Vitamin C tablets of 1000 mg each. Vitamin C powders too can be used. Now mix the Vitamin C powder, after you have crushed the tablets, with shampoo, and apply it on your hair. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse after that.

Hair Color Removers – There are 2 types of color removers available, one is color stripper and the other is color reducer. Color reducers cause minimum damage to hair, so its better to use them. Color stripper is more of bleach. While using a color reducer, stick to the manufacturer’s instructions so that your natural hair color is not messed up, only the artificial hair color is removed.

Bleach the hair – This is one of the most popular ways of getting rid of hair color from hair, but remember this is a harsh way of removing dye from hair. So, use this method only if all other methods have failed to give you the desired result, because bleaching the hair will damage the hair. If the hair color is already lighter, avoid bleaching. Only in case of strong permanent hair dye, try bleaching.
