RATINGS : - 9 OUT OF 10
I have been using the Lotus Herbals SPF 90 Collagen Shield Sunblock for a while now. Thought of reviewing long back, but never got the time for it. So here it is today. It costs INR Rs 595 and weighs 50g.
Ingredients :- Water, Titanium Dioxide, Light liquid Paraffin, Butylene Glycol, Magnesium Sulphate, Hydrolysed Soy Protein, Octyl Hydroxy Stearate, etc.
What Lotus claims about Lotus Herbals SPF 90 Collagen Shield Sunblock ? :- A revolutionary, preservative free light-weight formulation containing potent herbal extracts which protects Collagen in the skin. UVA rays penetrate deep into your skin and damage Collagen, resulting in wrinkles. Once Collagen is damaged, it cannot re-build itself. In fact upto 80% of skin ageing is caused by the sun.
Hydrolysed Soy Protein holds Collagen together in a firm and smooth way and helps combat sun-induced free-radical damage that can accelerate the signs of skin ageing. The aloe vera extract hydrates and replenishes skin and also protects from other sun induced damages. The easy to blend texture gives a non sticky and clean feel.
How to use ? :- Apply Safe Sun Collagen Shield Sunblock liberally and evenly on face and exposed parts (body, neck, arms, legs etc) before exposure to sun.
Now, this really lasts for a long time/several days, if applied in proportionate quantity. Its kind of watery or runny so make sure to get the right quantity or else you can end up wasting more than you need. Blends in easily. Also works perfectly well as a makeup base. I usually mix this with my foundation and apply on my face. Lotus Herbals SPF 90 Collagen Shield Sunblock absorbs very fast in the skin, and is matte. So ideal for combination and oily skinned people.
As you can see, the Lotus Herbals SPF 90 Collagen Shield Sunblock comes in a plastic tube, so the chances of spillage of the product is very less. Kind of travel friendly package. The smell is also not very strong, so should be bearable for one and all. It can be used as a BB cream too, if you don’t have anything much to conceal on your skin, and you can just head out without further touch up.
I like the sunscreen, and usually i stick to the Lotus SPF 70 and 90 sunblocks throughout the year. Other sunscreens from Lakme, Garnier don’t suit me much.
