Lóreal Paris Kajal Magique REVIEW

RATING :- 6 OUT OF 10

I have been using the Lóreal Paris Kajal Magique Eye Pencil for quite sometime now. It costs INR Rs 245. It is a retractable pencil eyeliner in black shade. The body is plastic made and black in color with a hint of pink on the lower end of the cap and the name written in pink on the body of the pencil. Overall it got a very appealing look.

What L'oreal claims about the Lóreal Paris Kajal Magique ? :
Supreme Black
A new generation formula! Powdered with mineral pigments for deep intense colour.
Extraordinary Care
Kajal Magique is formulated with care ingredients and gives a soothing feeling. Enriched with Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil Esters and Vitamin C derivative.
Magical Result - Eyeliner & Kajal!
To use, draw a precise stroke along your waterline. And a bold stroke on the upper lid to complete the look.

Smudge proof upto 12 H.
Non Transfer. Waterproof.
Opthalmologically tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

How to use ? : Can be used as a Kajal on the lower lash line. Can be used as liner on the upper eye lid. Can smudge a little to give smokey effect.

Now, i have tested this eye pencil and it seems the smudge proof and non transferable and waterproof claims are true. However the pencil does not stay smudge proof for 12 hours, but perhaps till 4 to 5 hours. Lóreal Paris Kajal Magique got main competitors in the market like Lakme Eyeconic Pencil and Maybelline Colossal Kajal. I simply love the Lakme Eyeconic Eye Pencil over the other two, however this post is not about it, but about this L'oreal Kajal Eye Pencil. Though the company claims that the Kajal is supreme black in color, but i find the black to be not that prominent or bold, Lakme is better in this case. You need to swipe the eye pencil at least 2 to 3 times to get the black color properly and still it is not that supremely black as it claims to be. Now, L'oreal got another new product L'oreal Kajal Magique Bold, which might help in this area.

Even though the Kajal wont go off even if you apply water on your eyes but then with just eye makeup remover this goes off easily. The pencil is soft on the skin, but then you need to swipe the pencil a number of times to get it properly on the eyelids. Also the L'oreal Kajal Magique is not that great for waterline as it goes off and becomes smudgy and hazy in just one hour or so. However on the upper eye lid, this stays intact, so if you are looking to get smokey eye look, this wont work on the upper lid.

Overall i am not very impressed with the L'oreal Kajal Magique and have found many better alternatives at similar price and even lower than this. I would not repurchase this anytime soon, but would like to try the BOLD version of this.
