MAC Expensive Pink has a Veluxe pearl finish, and is basically a pink eye shadow with duo chrome. It costs INR Rs 680 for a refill pan. It has coral undertones in it. This eye shadow is suitable for almost all skin types. If you are much into brown eye shadow for everyday purpose, this pink eye shadow will bring an instant change in your looks.

You can use the MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow as an overall eye color all over the eyelids, and then just for the winged eyeliner. However you can also pair this eye shadow by simply lining your upper lash line with a brown eye pencil. The eye shadow has golden shimmers in it which gives the duo-chrome look.

MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow is not highly pigmented, but it is more or less having an okayish pigmentation. This MAC eye shadow is smooth and non-powdery. It stays on for a long time on the eyelids, and can be worn every day, it’s a wearable shade, I must say.

The MAC Expensive Pink eye shadow is the most flattering eye shadow for medium skin tones, though I assume that the glittery golden particles stand out more prominently when a dark skinned beauty uses the eye shadow. Just remember to apply a good eye primer, so that the eye shadow will last longer.

1.      Do it yourself ( DIY ) – You can instantaneously cut down the cost on nails if you learn to do manicure and pedicure by yourself. However if you have nail salons nearby the locality which gives decent services at cheap rates, then save your energy and time, by visiting those salons instead of doing the nails yourself.

2.      Apply thin coats of nail paint instead of thick – If you thought painting your nails thickly saves from painting it again and again in a week, let me tell you, thick layers take longer time to dry and can chip easily. So, thinner layers are better for the nails.

After packing a medium coppery brown eyeshadow all over the upper eyelid, she has gone for lining the eyes with black eyeliner. And then smudged the outer edges of the line. For this eye makeup too, she has not overdone the mascara part.

After applying bronzer on the hollows of the cheeks, Kareena Kapoor added a pop of light pink blush on her cheeks. She has also applied skin illuminator or highlighter on certain areas of the face, as is evident by the shine on her face when light strikes.

For the lips, Bebo has picked up a light pink shade. The lip color is neither too glossy nor too matte or creamy.

I got this foundation months back, and this was lying at a dark corner in my wardrobe, until day before yesterday, when I decided to go for this foundation once more, as I went for shopping. And what I met with was disspointment. I am really aghast and have promised myself not to buy any other Lakme foundations going by the other beauty bloggers’ recommendation. The product is Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover SPF 25. And I really cannot understand why is the product so overrated by the Indian makeup and beauty bloggers?

What Lakme claims about the Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover SPF 25 : This ultra light, oil-free, water based formula delivers naturally fair, breathable skin. Its weightless formulation hides pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone to leave skin peachy soft all through the day. It lasts up to 16 hours without fading and has Vitamin B3 and sun protection of SPF 25.

Lets face it, this foundation is a big time sucker! The foundation is supposed to be matte, but obviously if one is oily skinned like me, it turns into greasy and patchy within 10 minutes of application. You can get only 3 shades of the foundation – 01 Ivory Fair, 03 Golden Medium and 05 Beige Honey. The Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover SPF 25 is priced at INR Rs 595, a big price tag for such a poor product! For me, the Lakme Perfecting Foundation which is priced at INR Rs 99 is superior to this bottle of misery!

Lakme foundations are never really good, while other brands’ foundation are better in quality at the same price. However, this particular foundation Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover SPF 25 casts a whitish cast on the face, which is very much prominent in flash lights, even in a well-lit place or room. Whenever I tried to blend it, it forms white patches, my complexion looks clearly discolored. The foundation kind of settles down in the lines and wrinkles, making the imperfections more prominent. However, if you are going to a dark place which has dim lights or almost no lights, then the foundation will be okay for you.

Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover SPF 25 has a nice fragrance - citrusy. I picked up the 03 shade. But it delivers a low coverage, instead of covering up the bit of zit zats on the skin, it accentuates those areas, I feel. This time it was my fourth trial with the Lakme foundation, I make sure that I have used at least 3 to 4 times any product before reviewing it. Well, if you are going to buy this particular foundation from Lakme, I would suggest turn on your left or right or back, and go to someother counter, but Holy Mary, NO not this!

Fall Eye Make-Up For 2012

Blue Eyeliner / Eyeshadow

I know a lot of you girls avoid blue when it comes to eyeshadow. Me too, did that before I came to know about the latest hot trends in makeup. Just we need to be bold, and then we can dare to wear bold colors too, which is very much on-trend these days! You can choose from a variety of types and shades of blue, like turquoise, cobalt blue, shimmery blues or matte ones. But use the blue very sparingly. You can even use a blue eyeliner to line the eyes, or use it as an all over lid color. Keep the mascara part minimal, as the main focus should be on the blue eyeliner or shadow!

Just push the envelope a little further, and sport a dual layered eye liner for the eyes. On your upper lash line, very close to the roots of the eyelashes, apply the black liner. This makes the lashes appear thicker. Then just alogn the edge of the black line, try on some fun vibrant color liner like electric blue or forest green or orange.

Thicken the lower eyeliner

If you skip lining your lower eyelashes and rim, then this time, start lining the waterlining. Remember to thicken the line. So just start by using this technique.

First apply concealer on the contour of the eyes, to conceal the dark circles, as by putting eyeliner on the lower lashes, we are going to add more definition to the eyes. Next go for an eyeshadow primer. Finally take a black eyeliner pencil and draw a line on your hand, then take an angular brush or an eyeliner brush and dip it into the color that you have on your hand. Start drawing a soft line on the waterline now. Thicken the line, and soften any harsh edges with fluffy brush. Apply some transcluscent powder beneath the eyes and you are done!

Brown eyeshadow

Brown is in this season – especially shimmery browns! So just create a soft brown smokey eyes instead of the plain old black smokey eyes.

To brighten the eye area, add a shimmery golden eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eyes. Then for the outer corner and the crease, take a blending brush, and at least 2 shades of brown shadows. You can team up this look with a fresh face look having nice rosy cheeks.

Cat Eyeliner

Cat eyes are the classic style which never goes off-trend! This also helps to get a younger and fresh appearance due to the flicked up winged liner.

So just sweep on a taupe colored eyeshadow all over the eyelid, and take a gel liner to make a thick winged line. If you are not sure how to do the winged out line, just draw a small triangle on the outer corner of your eye, and then fill it in with the gel liner.

How to do speedy make-up

If you cant afford to invest more than 30 minutes for your makeup and hair, and still want to look glam hot, then follow the tips and tricks mentioned below, and be the speedy stylist yourself, whom you always wanted to hire before today!

Face

Now if you are on the go or in your office, it wont be possible for you to start from scratch, and cleanse your face before beginning the makeup regime. Therefore, it is highly advisable, that ladies should carry facial wipes or blotting papers in their purses. Even if you don’t have the time to wash your face with facial foam, use a blotting paper.

Many women replace the blotting paper, with face powder. But if you keep on patting powder on your shiny or oily face, then it becomes cakey and patchy, instead of giving a matte look!

Next thing, you need to have is a concealer. It might not be possible to carry a bottle of foundation with yourself always. But then you can always use a concealer on the problem zones. But then do not apply a lot of the concealer.

To conceal the weary drained out look, add some color to your cheek, with a pink toned blush. AEsThEtIcS recommends using a lip/cheek stain as a blusher since you wont need a brush to apply then. Also the cheek stains are much smooth to be applied, and gives a glowy effect to the face. Cream blushes are also cool!

You can give the final touch by spraying some make-up mist on your face to get the dewy fresh face.

Eyes

As you have already some makeup on, just separate your dried out lashes with a mascara comb, and reapply one coat of mascara on the eyelashes. Do not over-do this part, as you wont like to end up having spidery lashes.

If you want you can change the color of the eyeliner, like from black to brown or dark blue. You can also thicken the eyeliner. Due to bad lighting, aEsThEtIcS suggests you should never ever try anything with eyeshadows in the office bathroom, however if you are at your home or in your car, then obviously you can try and experiment with the shadow thing.

Lips

For a quick easy make-up, carry lipstick and not lipgloss in your purse. Lipsticks are easier to be applied and stay generally longer. You can also use some lipsticks as blusher. A vibrant bold lip color can instantly make you look much refreshed and better, even after the tiring workday!

Hair

Always have an anti-frizz gel or serum in your purse. Whether your hair is straight or curly or wavy, this anti-frizz serum will help the flyways to settle soon. If you are having a bad hair night or evening, your hair looks limp and dull, do not worry! Go for a high ponytail or a low bun at the nape of your neck. For a change, you can also try the side braid or side ponytail.

If you are in a time crunch, just do not aim at straightening your curly hair or vice versa. However you can throw in a few curls in the straight hair if you want, or just straighten the front section of the hair. But all these cant be done in the office bathroom and you need to go to your home or in the car for this primping session. Refreshing the style is the best option for the hair.

Fragrance

All done, except enhancing your feminine smell. Smell makes us ready for the special night out. To get into the mood, a bit of the smell is fine. Have an affordable roller-ball bottle for the quick makeup on the go, do not carry perfume bottle in your purse, as you will be risking the bottle as it might get cracked or the perfume might spill any time.

Exfoliate the face

Foundation and/or Concealers

If you have a lot of blemishes and pigmentation, go for concealer. But if you have some negligible spots here and there, I would suggest, use a mineralized foundation all over the face.

But this step is totally omitable if you have almost perfect skin. In that case, only the tinted moisturizer would do.

Blusher for cheeks

Give some freshness and life to your face, by sweeping girly blusher on the apples of your cheeks. Remember to blend it well.

Eye Makeup

Keep the eye makeup minimal. You can wear a neutral eyeshadow, and line the waterline with a white or flesh toned eye pencil. For the upper lash line you can use a brown liner, and smudge it out. Then curl the lashes, and apply just one coat of mascara.

Fill in the eye brows

Do not forget to fill in the brows with an angled brush by dipping it in shadow or you can use a pencil even. Use a shade that is at least one shade lighter than the color of the hair.

Lips

For the lips, you can use a neutal colored lip liner to line the lips and fill it in. Then on top of that add a nice gloss in coral or light pink shade.

Frame Type : While choosing the frame, consider your complexion, hair color, face shape. If you are going to wear the eyeglasses all the time, or only when you go out or while you are at work, chose the frame accordingly.

Ask the salesperson to assist you, by telling your requirements. Also tell the salesperson, what kind of eyeglasses frame you are looking for – whether it should be bold and statement ones, or conservative delicate ones.

Comfort: Dont just go by the look of the eyeglasses, comfort of the eyewear also matters. If a frame looks very cool, but when you wear it, you don’t feel comfortable in it, then lets face it - it is not a good buy. If you buy a nice looking pair of eyeglasses and keep it in your drawer most of the time, the eyewear is definitely not the worth of the money you spent.

So just remember the few points mentioned below -

How to choose a flattering frame color for your eyeglasses

How many of us have been in a dilemma to choose the perfect frame color for eyeglasses for ourselves? I guess a lot of us have faced the same problem while we went to shop eyeglasses for our eyes. We have asked ourselves - which colored frame would be suitable for me? But the question kept on echoing in our minds, with no definite answers. And then, we have chosen such frames which we realized to be not so perfect when came back home and tried on ourselves. At least that happened to me many a times, what about you?

These days we get a variety of colors in eyeglasses frames. Ranging from single colored or toned glasses like reds and blacks and purples, to multiple colored blended frames of eyeglasses. However we must keep one thing in mind always that, if we want to choose a flattering frame for our eyeglasses, we must consider our skin complexion, hair color, as well as various other factors.

a)      Skin Tone : First and foremost, think of your own skin tone. Ask yourself – is your skin complexion warm toned or cool toned?

If you are warm toned with yellow or peachy undertones, go for eyeglasses frames in golden, brown, or bluish turquoise colors.

If you are cool toned with pink undertones, go for black, silver, purple or grey colored frames of eyeglasses.

b)      Hair Color : Keep in mind your hair color and choose the eyeglasses frame accordingly for yourself.

 

If your hair color is black, light blonde, greyish, you would be looking best with eyeglasses having frames of pink, grey, light blue colors.

If you wear pastel shade outfits, then you can buy light pink or plum shades of eyeglasses frames.

e)      Rimless glasses : If you still cant decide on which colored frame of eyeglasses you should invest in, then play safe and buy rimless eyeglasses.

Before I end the post, I would like to add, that though trendy colored frames like yellow or bright red or mauves can look very attractive, but remember that they wont go with all types and colors of outfits. Therefore you need to have different color frames for different occasions and outfits. So if you can afford to buy many pairs of eyeglasses, then only go ahead and buy trendy colored frames of eyeglasses.

Dia avoids wearing foundation this season, as it becomes greasy, therefore she goes for a powder based concealer. She wears only waterproof makeup this season, but does not like heavy makeup.

For the skin, she uses an oil-free moisturiser.

For Dia, conditioning the hair is must, as it keeps the frizzes at bay. She loves braiding her hair, also she finds hair bands and pins to do miracles in a bad hair day!

She suggest in this season, once in awhile we can gorge on fried foods in small quantities, but then whatever we eat, we must be ready to shed those extra calories.

For Amy, she loves using tinted moisturisers instead of foundations, and likes using cream blushes instead of powdered ones. She goes for a soft lip color, and kohl on her eyes, and finishes it with mascara – certainly a waterproof one.

She exfoliates her facial skin, at least once every week. She uses a light cleanser, skin toner and moisturiser every day. And never wears any damp clothes as that leads to fungal infections often.

Amy belives in keeping her hair healthy and so takes Vitamin E.

For workout, she does yoga and functional training which are generally space saving, that means requires only a bit of space at home. Also she prefers walking the stairs instead of taking the elevator’s help.

Aditi does not use makeup on a daily basis, but sticks to using a lip balm and waterproof mascara on special days of outing.

She keeps her skin clean by washing it with water and also splashing some cold raw milk on the face.

She loves experimenting with her hairstyle by doing plaits and twists. She likes doing fish plait and a side French braid.

She does yoga.
